http://thegonisschnitzelria.com.au/ Massive Shnitzels , your choice of protein , chicken , lamb or veal. 1kg of chicken breast is commonly quoted, we didn't weigh it but sounds right. Huge serving. For $22 for one schnitzel enough for 2 hungry people. VFM Even so we couldn't eat it all and had leftover, Goni's provide foil tray to take home leftovers for $1.00 or 50 cents for smaller insulated tray. We saw large pacific islander males leave with the foil trays, so even they couldn't finish their schnitzels. So now we are having chicken schnitzel on Turkish bread for lunch as well !! Enough for 2 people. We had Greek chicken schnitzel with olives and fetta and in a tomato sauce and layered with cheese. The photo doesn't show it is actually tiered, there were four large breast schnitzels altogether. Click to view full size! Click to view full size! The place is clean and tidy and newish inside (opened in April this year) and friendly staff who seem to be the managers of the restaurant. Self serve cutlery, plates and napkins, no biggie. Licensed. So if you are really hungry after a big night out or just want to feed the family on a budget and you like schnitzel, then you can't fault this restaurant.
Looks like a decent sized schnitzel, but not a major challenge. May be deceptive, but from the pic looks a lot like the ones at Coopers Alehouse in Adelaide - massive and delicious! Good enough excuse for a pit stop when I'm up in Sydders next...

It's incredibly deceptive. It's not one giant schnitty, but smaller ones that are overlapped. When it first came out I thought it'd be easy. Half way through... not feeling great ... I still finished Haven't eaten a schnitty since lol
Nothing like a great schnitty. Few golfing buddies of mine just came across from Sydney and tried some of our finest. BIG schnitty fans /mouth watering looking at OP
Yeah, if you can't eat one of these, you're a softcock... They're big, but it's no worse than eating a pizza... At a work night out, I once ate one, got wasted in the White Cockatoo, then came back just before they closed and ate another one... lol...
Yeah the ale house is great in adelaide, apparently the casino in adelaide does 18" ones occasionly too!
i've been a few times, best option is the veal with sauce on the side. This way your leftovers don't end up soggy the next day (heat them up in the sandwich press, not the microwave)
So thats where they are! Had them at the White Cockatoo years back, went back a few months ago and i got some shitty shnitzels.. PS they were bigger when I had them at the White Cockatoo.. came with chips too
