Anyone been to Hoosegow on Magill road?
Headed there Friday night.
Went a few weeks ago.
Wife and I shared the meat plate for two and really enjoyed it.
Friendly staff too.
Took my fiance out for some peruvian tonight, only night we'll be dining out while we're down here and she'd never tried cerviche (one of my favourite things) so thought it was a good call. Mestizo Cocina Peruana in glenelg south. Had their five-course tasting menu (or as the menu puts it, "Chef Feed Me" lol). Was all pretty great for casual dining. Nice to see a well executed tasting menu at $64 a head not $130 a head, though of course it's not fine dining. The cerviche was excellent, as were both carnivorous dishes. From what I gathered the chefs do a different combination for the tasting menu each evening. Pretty good wine list, too.
Hoosegow was awesome, really worth a trip, and you won't leave hungry!!
Quadbox thanks for that, definitely going to give that a go very soon.
We also went to the Himalayan restaurant on brighton road a while back (opposite Charlie's) and it was a good experience, and worth visiting for something new.
Booked into ORSO for this saturday - good reviews and menu looks great. Will report back.
