Just switched from iPhone to a Galaxy S8. Good lord the standard keyboard and spell check is horrendous. My typing speed is half what it was on the iPhone. It just seems to have no intelligence about it. Random spaces in the middle of basic words. I just attempted the word "standard" about 8 times. Basically it would be faster to turn spell correction off.

Can anyone recommend a good keyboard with intelligent spell correction? Ideally one that doesn't ask to log all my key strokes...

Thanks. I'll try Swiftkey. The standard keyboard was "Samsung Keyboard".

I was a diehard SwiftKey fan for many years. But the features built into gboard made me make the switch and now Gboard is the only way to go.

Swipe to delete and swipe spacebar to move cursor is the best part

I've been a loooooong time Swiftkey user but the last 6 months or so it's really been annoying with shit predictions & running a bit sluggish. I went back to gboard a couple of weeks ago. It's soooo much faster & predictions are bang on. Also has theming now and all the other gesture controls make it as good/better than Swiftkey in some ways.

I've used Swype a few times during my SwiftKey days. It is definitely handy when you can only use one hand, and it is actually quicker than typing with both thumbs when you get used to it.
Gboard integrated swipe typing a little while back and it works just as well, if not better because google has amazing predictive text capabilities. You can have it enabled an only use it when you need it, just start swiping.

I just swapped to Gboard... waaaay better than swiftkey.

Swiftkey has an annoying habit of not correcting a word before I press send.

Been using Swiftkey for a while. It's definitely better than standard but it seems like Apple has the typing game all squared away. On my Galaxy it's still allowing to type gibberish words and incorrect grammar.

GBoard, by far the best keyboard for Android.

Ended up going back to Swype, liked the option of having special characters, found the prediction was closer

the dictionary for custom words predicts better
Converted 2 people at work using stock keyboard, saw me writing lengthy IM post (i'd usually transcribe it), blew their mind
