    Hey guys,

In Sydney for 1 night. Don't wanna do the typical fast food bullshit.

Get into Sydney around 6pm Thursday night.

What's a good place that's open then? Something along the lines of ribs/steak/mexican etc?

As close to Homebush/Lidcombe as possible.

    Cheers!

Well, if you want to go into town, I had a really nice pub meal when I was there in March. Crown Hotel, cnr Goulburn and Elizabeth Streets. I had a ribeye steak, it came with garlic mash and vegetables (baby carrots and asparagus, perfect). I ate the whole thing (an achievement for me) and it was (relatively) inexpensive, I thought. It's hard with food venues, because they can change overnight if they lose a chef, but it was only in March, so hopefully it is still as good.

You won't really get that sort of food around that area... I'd go charcoal chicken around that area.
Maybe el jannah... get plenty of garlic sauce.

    Any recommendations for the city?

    No.

I was actually considering the Casino. Some others suggested it. Going to do a couple of ferry rides and things. haha

Hmm.. not for steak, mexican or ribs to be honest. You won't find anything decent around sydney. I could recommend Thai though. Sydney is great for Asian food, not so much much anything else which is all average imho.

Casinos freak me out, all those lights and shit. Anyway, I recommend the Crown because I actually ate there and it was terrific, but I was given other recommendations before I went to Sydney. Unfortunately, didn't get to try many places. I'll try to find the thread for you.

It wasn't March I went, it was May.....
I did have a pie from Harry's Cafe de Wheels, with mash and peas and gravy(?) It was very good.
