My Android upgrade route has been
    Galaxy S1
    Galaxy Nexus
    Nexus 4

While the S1 still works well today with Cyanogenmod on it, it always had a crap GPS. If you go from the S1 to a Nexus 5 you will the happiest nerd around. It will be a night and day difference in so many ways. Hell the N4 is a vast leap forward over the SGS1.

Once you go Nexus, you can't go back (except for maybe a Google edition phone which aren't availible in Aus)

N7 2013 sticks very nicely to the orb and I use it all the time. If the N5 is the same material I don't see any reason it shouldn't work perfectly with an Orb.

You don't have any major requirements, so I don't see why the Nexus 5 (or named Nexus 4 2013) wouldn't fit the bill.

Pending on pricing, you may have to jump on the Play store as soon as they are available, otherwise face a possible 4+ month delay...but lets hope Google order enough for their initial batch.

Was really hoping for a 3000mah battery, otherwise it's hardly an upgrade to my One if this leak is accurate.

That battery size is disappointing. LG still cannot design a nice phone yet.

Sony need to make the next Google Nexus.

You don't like the Nexus 4? I think it's quite a nice phone imo. Better looking than anything else. Even with the unique glitchy matrix stuff on the back. That super skinny HTC thing is alright too.

I was kinda hoping the new nexus would glitter, have always been more concerned with specs then looks, but it really is that pretty! Still thinking of pulling the trigger on one and passing the N4 to the missus to enjoy as she needs a new phone

Looking good. Im happy to see the 32GB of storage and LTE.

Lost my N4 around march this year and decided to wait it out for the N5.

Battery is a bit of a shame.

So like the nexus 4, it will be available from the play store only initially?

While it wouldn't surprise me, I tend to find plastic being a lot more forgiving. I'm happy to forgo chrome and aluminium for a betting priced and durable product...they can do wonders to make plastic feel non-slimy.

We assume it will be released in a similar form. But without any actual details from Google it's hard to say 100%.

Was going to get a SGS4 Mini, but with 32GB of storage, I may just hold off a week or so... Could be worth it from my poor old suffering SGSII...

Do you guys feel the hype for the Nexus 5 is a lot less than for the Nexus 4? I think so.

The web isn't foaming at the mouth over the N5 like it was for the N4.

considering you were the one stirring us up for the N4

but seriously, we have our N4 we can afford a wait and see approach to determine if the N5 is worthy of our $$$

edit - i will add, wait till the announcement on the 14/15th, then we will see some more action :)

Now the rumour mill is claiming the 16gb will have a 2300mah battery and the 32gb will have a 3000mah

Smells like BS to me. Nothing the size of an N4 has even close to a 3000mah battery. Physically wont fit. Will just be 16/32 gb versions with the 2300mah battery imho.

While the N5 is a performance jump up from the N4, it isn't the leaps and bounds the N4 was from the GNex. Don't get me wrong, it's a damn nice phone but not sure it's really worth the upgrade from an N4 based on the leaked info. We will know in a week or so.
