Alternatively, download the zip file and sideload it from recovery
Nexus 6P OTA
Nexus 5X OTA
sideloaded this morning. feels pretty much the same bar the drop-downs have changed to fit more in line with google now. keen to see if battery life improves
Yeah. Double tap recent button to switch between last used app (alt+tab) is a nice feature. Dual window (hold recent button) is nice but not sure how often I'll use it real world.
(Yes I know both have been available in 3rd party roms for years but it's nice to have it baked into the official version)
Good overview of new features here - http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016...t-review-do-more-on-your-gigantic-smartphone/
EDIT: Ohh DPI adjustment through display settings now!!. Nice.
I like the quick buttons on the first pull-down screen (notifications). Previously had to swipe down twice to get those. Was annoying to get to the torch
How many cats has everyone else got from the N easter egg?
The most important question regarding Android 7 .
Pressing matters first mate, tell me about the damn kitty cats!
Nah, everything has been covered. The alt tab feature is probably the only notable one for me.
the side by side app windows would be good on a tablet, don't see any real use on a phone.
Split screen is so good!
did the upgrade this morning for my 5x, just over 1gb download for the update
I have had no problems with day to day use so far
Such famous, its pretty epic split screening YouTube and Chrome. Finally something you can point at a tablet and say that, it's great at that. Vertical split is possibly even better than horizontal. Android just keeps getting better and better.
Few days on how is nougat going for people? I was hoping to have upgraded by now but I had lost my USB cable
Feels good to me. Battery life a bit better, overall feels a bit snappier.
Notifications are handled a bit more nicely.
Updated this morning and loving it. Seamless
Is it worthwhile still considering a Nexus 6P? My note 4 died and if I wait for Samsung to repair under warranty we will likely be in the next millenium.
I have read amazing reviews about the 6P but am wondering if it is worth holding out for 2016 release (likely HTC?)
If you can wait 2~ months (and use some crappy phone for now) it'd be a good idea.
Not only because of the new devices, but the 6P will probably go down in price too. So double win.
I'm with Danske. I love the 6P. Have had it since launch and would still buy it over any other Android phone. But unless you get a killer deal, I'd be waiting at this point to see what comes next in the Nexus line.
Thanks for the replies - am using the Wifes old S3 - sooo tiny! Paying Telstra still for the Note 4 under contract and samsung twiddling their fingers...
Thanks again for the advice.
So far nougat is working, haven't noticed any major changes yet though.
Define killer deal? 128gb for $689 is about the best I can find.
