Just under a month away to be released on October 15th... haven't seen a thread.. apologies if duplicate.

    https://www.androidcentral.com/google-pixel-4-will-be-announced-october-15
    https://www.cnet.com/news/google-pi...n-specs-price-camera-features-october-launch/
    https://www.techradar.com/au/news/google-pixel-4

    What we know so far..

Notch is gone.. Forehead is back.. ala Pixel 2/2XL.

Fingerprint scanner is gone.. Project Soli/Motion Sense/ Face unlock is in using Radar/IR/Laser dots.. which will also be used for air gestures.. should be interesting how they can use this feature.

Muti rear camera like every other phone...

90Hz screen refresh rate... great for motion.. might be a drain on battery.

    General Specs below.

Category Pixel 4 Pixel 4 XL
    Operating System Android Q
    Display 5.7-inch
    AMOLED
    Full HD+
    90Hz refresh rate
    Qualcomm Snapdragon 855
    RAM 6GB 6GB
    Storage 64/128GB
Rear Camera 1 12MP main camera
Rear Camera 2 16MP telephoto camera
    Audio Stereo speakers
    Battery 2,800 mAh

    Category Pixel 4 XL
    Operating SystemAndroid Q
    Display6.3-inch
    AMOLED
    Quad HD+
    90Hz refresh rate
    Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 855
    RAM 6GB
    Storage 64/128GB
Rear Camera 1 12MP main camera
Rear Camera 2 16MP telephoto camera
    Audio Stereo speakers
    Battery 3,700 mAh

Rumours of the 4a and 4a XL might be launched at the same time.. but that is unconfirmed.
Would make sense to launch those a little bit later to space out the release of their flagship.

As a Pixel 2 XL owner, very happy with the upgrades and keeping the same physical format.
Hopefully the wide angle selfie cam is still in.. but not holding my breath.

Will definitely be getting this new phone if not at launch.. shortly after before end of the year.

First time I feel like Google is playing catch up or copying apple.

Face id login, new home page gesture control, multiple cameras (they've always smashed it out of the park with just one)

At least they're still on top with other things like 90hz screen, quad hd, front facing speakers etc

I'll probably go Panda again. Coral colour isn't bad.. just not my preference.

Considering all of the Apple 11 features are all done on other phones.. not really copying Apple but other Android phones.

With google's software advantage, hopefully see some magic again with the multi camera setup.

The Razer phone doesn't have battery issues with a 120hz screen, I assume google will be fine with a 90hz one

I will definitely be picking one up. Might wait a month or so post launch to see if anyone has deals on it (my will power may not hold out that long though). My 2XL is still running perfectly, its just time for an upgrade I think.

Pixel phones don't get "leaked" that's just part of their marketing schtick.

Looks like the 4XL will just be a screen and battery bump; which makes my decision easier.

Currently using a phone with a 6" display. Thinking of the Pixel 4 as a replacement, and go back down in screen size a bit.

Why do these flagship phones have such low battery capacity...?

I'm using an SD636 based 6" Zenfone and it's got a 5000mah battery and can last three days without a charge if I'm lightly using it... how can a flagship still need to be recharged at the end of the day?

Market studies must be suggesting people want "thin" and "light" ahead of battery.

Similar camp to you, I've grown used to my 4,000mah battery, on weekends I don't need to charge it

    • No fingerprint scanner
    • No ultra wide camera
    • Small battery for the pixel 4
    • Small storage
I wanted this phone but it's a huge let down.
