I got curious about pricing and found this comparison. If you thought the "Australia tax" sucked, be happy you don't live in Germany or India
    https://www.airfrov.com/blog/google-pixel-phone-deal-around-the-world/

Speaking of Australian tax... I wandered into the Whingepool buying thread and saw the discussion about who pays GST when buying from the Google Store. Given all the phones are >$1000, I don't know what dodgy technique they're using to get around GST.

Would they get around it by shipping from inside Australia? This would technically avoid import tax right?

Its very well timed with the whole Samsung incident. Going to be a lot of premium Android buyers looking away from Samsung right now just as a brand new premium device launches at the same price point.

*puts tinfoil hat on* Maybe google snuck some code into Android to make the Note 7 explode in order to sell more Pixel XLs!

Took the Pixel camping/hiking this weekend, I don't think I'll be taking my proper camera to most places anymore lol.

When they've been uploaded I'll share a few crackers.

The camera and HDR mode is hilarious now, you press it and it's done. Your phone doesn't become unusable, the camera "just works", and works insanely fast.

Wait I have one already in the cloud:

Click for bigs, dat quality tho.

Oh yeah for sure, I *think* they are both using the same Sony camera module, with some adjustments to the Pixel (or it might be exactly the same, I'm not sure).

I know! I think it was a bad idea at first, but what's the point of getting awesome technology and being too afraid to use it .

    Looks really good... Good stuff.

My Note camera is literally unusable... 5 seconds to bring it up, 20 seconds trying to fucking focus, not working OK let me step back a few metre's....

Then wait 3 seconds after I press the button and hope it captures whatever I wanted, usually misses the shot if its moving. THEN let's try review it in the gallery, good luck.

So much trash, I am done. Pixel you are winning me.

All i wanna do is take pictures of my cats when they do funny stuff and spazz out. By the time I can muster up a blurry shot they have calmed down and just look at me like 'wtf you want with that poo phone'...

Which Note is this? Recent model? There's a couple really good deals on the S7 which have also been tempting me. 70% cost of a Pixel is not to be sneezed at, still a top rated camera, and I think surely all the crap Samsung got about bloat and lag has to have been fixed by now? I guess not? Anybody jumping from an S7 for performance reasons?

Im interested to hear opinions on this too. I dumped Samsung after my s3 because of touchwiz and have not looked at them since. After my LG G4 bootlooped a month ago, I'm not keen on LG again seeing as other models are bootlooping too. The pixel looked perfect, but $1400 for a phone is insane to me.

Should I be disconnecting the phone after fast charging to 100%?

Does it matter if I run the battery to flat? Does this do damage to the lithium ion batteries?

Also that guy that bends/snaps phones, says the Pixel is the most robust phone he's tested in terms of snapability.

Are you sure dude? Last one I saw bending lifted the screen basically off the frame... fairly terrible build...
