Yeah pretty decent! About 2 hours of SOT.

I don't have that app thankfully haha. Nor FB Messenger, both are shite.

Yeah agreed. Not really a heavy FB user, just check it every other day. So I'm ok for missing out on "notifications" by using the web app.

Stupid notifications about what events people are attending near me, like I give a shit.

    God I hate facebook.

Using swipe (fb replacement for main app and messenger)

gives notifications etc. but they're turned off by default.

Have seen a dramatic improvement in battery life - even if the app itself isn't as nice to use as the official one.

There's an FB messenger lite app floating around on the internet, official APK by FB too, it's just not in the play store because global restrictions (or some shit).

On that note, I can't stand geo restrictions. The internet is a global thing, goddamn it.

Edit: Anyone using Tasker? Does it drain the battery like crazy? I only want to use one command and that's disable notification light when I enter "Alarms only" DND mode.
Also, has anyone tried using a black background for their screens? Does it save battery?

Use Swipe as mentioned above. It's the best Facebook client imo.

(there is a free version but don't be tight :p )

I use tasker for a bunch of stuff and have never noticed a massive increase in battery usage. I don't think it's ever shown up in my battery usage screen

Are you by any chance using Tasker to disable notification LED when DND is enabled? :)

The developer at Lightflow emailed me saying I can do it with Tasker, because of that stupid Persistent Icon bug that's with Android 6. I'm using legacy Lightflow, which fixes the persistent icon notification, BUT doesn't allow me to enable sleep mode during DND mode!!!!!!!!

Fucking android I swear to god this stuff should be basic settings, I shouldn't have to be installing 40 apps just to do 2 things jesus.

No, but how disturbing can a notification light be??. :)

    I use tasker to:

    • Turn my coffee machine on 30 minutes before my morning alarm goes off
    • Turn my security camera email notifications on when I leave the house and off when I get home
    • Set my screen brightness to full and screen timeout off when I'm on car bluetooth and phone is plugged in.
    • Turn screen rotation to auto when in Youtube or Photos

It's a great app. A bit of a learning curve but very, powerful

WOW turn on the coffee machine? Da fuq that is amazing.

And if I hear a bee fart or see star light come through my blinds and I wake up at night, lightest sleeper in the world.

December security update can't come soon enough! Doubletap to wake will be a feature!
(I've gotten so used to it from my LGG4, I've been doing it at least once a day, despite not using that phone in over a week)

Wow I didn't even notice this. I dug through the settings and found it! Thanks dude haha.

Yeah honestly, I'm looking really forward to double tap to wake, I've never had it before but it seems like a great feature.

I have a feeling it might be a bit clunky with Doze running though, like we'll see a delay if the phone's been Dozing and needs to wake up from the double tap.

Oh and my battery has been getting better. 4hrs sot for 24hrs usage has been about average. Most of the savings would be from doze I'd say. I get significant delays to push notifications for many things. Ie notifications every 10 minutes, or I open my phone and a bunch just appear. It's hard to gauge, but so far no issues from it.
