Just got 7.1.1. Tap to see notifications is boss. Noiiiiiiiice feature stolen from Moto haha.

I agree $1400 is actually insane for a phone.

Personally, I paid $1200 or whatever for the 128GB Pixel, even that was pushing it as I have never spent that kind of money for a bloody phone. For me it was an upgrade to a 3 year old Nexus 5. So basically, if I get 3 years out of this phone, I will be happy. At this rate it's amazingly fast and does the job very well, so I predict it will be good for 3+ years.

Additionally, I agree with your conclusion that it's more of a 800-1000 phone. The camera though, jesus christ the camera. Blows my mind how good this thing is.

Yep agree that the price for what you get is insanely high, honestly when you see cheap china phones that have the same or better build quality for $200...

I just got the 32Gb Model, never used more than 20gb on the Nexus 6p in 13 months of use so dont see it happening on this. I use my phone as a phone, and occasional happy snap of kids if I dont have a camera with me. The apps I run are pretty basic, Audible, Pandora and Kodi .. essentially thats it rest are small apps. Also with the unlimited cloud, I've set it up so at night when on charge my phone backs up the photos... awesome feature. I can then choose to delete but for the moment i am just leaving the auto backup.

I think I'm seriously regretting getting the XL.... It's just... too ... BIG!

You'll get used to it.. though going from the Nexus 6P -> Pixel is heaven. I can leave it in my pocket when I sit down ;P Will miss the screen on those plane trips when watching something but other than that everything is still very readable and I'm pretty happy with the size.

Open it up, i think you will be pleasantly surprised. It is a decent little number, i come from the 6P also and now the XL is a great update with the size just about right..

Thinking about taking the plunge to a Pixel.

Quick question. If you purchase from Telstra, do the OS updates come from Telstra or from Google directly?

For sure, I think even my 6P is/was too big. I think 5" is perfect for one-handed-busy-multitasking.

Bring on the new Pixel 7 for media consumption I say.

Hope you find someone that wants to swap dude.

    Google 100%.

I purchased it outright from Telstra, the only thing different to buying from Google is they preload their Telstra app onto the pixel, which is fine as you can uninstall it if you want.

Anyone else notice micro/hairline scratches on the back glass panel?

Google/HTC are actually retarded to NOT put gorilla glass on the back when they did for the front...

I'm literally stressing that the glass over the camera will get scratched now I know it's inferior glass :|. And I'm the kinda person that takes pretty good care of tech.

Edit: I actually might do this: http://phandroid.com/2016/11/14/google-pixel-protip-how-to-tips-tricks/
