    Hello

I have been after one of these for a while

it a MS6115 in the jaycar catalouge

They have them listed at Jaycar, but they have never been in stock since they first showed up about a year ago.

Does anyone know where to get something like this from in Aus, for relatively cheap ? as I want to use it to work out what uses what power in my house.

    thanks

    Ben

Last I saw, the computer at Jaycar was putting a due date of the end of the month on it (or maybe the end of August....).

If you're confident in doing it, there are a few kits around which do it, but I don't know where to get a pre-built one from.

    thanks.

I dont want to make one myself, as I am not confident enough with 240v, also, considering its only $40, its not really worth my time.

Hopefully jaycar will get some of these in stock. As I would be curious as to what things around the house are using all the power. and I can find out just how much power my electronic equipment uses in standby mode.

i really doubt Jaycar would decide to not stock them if Electus say they are getting them in soon.

I've been looking around for one of these as well but haven't been able to find any. Couldn't even find one on eBay. I'd be really interested to find out how much power I'm saving by unplugging things rather than leaving them on standby :p

I asked early LAST year about them when they first popped up on the Jaycar site, they said August, then December, then.....

When they do eventually get them hopefully they go alright.

From what I've heard from head office, its something that they get a deal on, and then the people Jaycar/Electus is getting them from change their mind.... I'll make a note to try and remember to make a post in this thread when they come in - so everyone subscribe to it :)

That often happens on new products unfortunately - but 98% of the time they do end up appearing - just after the due date has been pushed back quite a few times...

Sounds like there is a market that needs to be filled.. especially while everyone is thinking energy efficiency.

:thumbdn: I've heard about this last year, 15 months on and it is still not available. I am thinking of getting this http://www.todae.com.au/comersus2/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=636
instead of waiting for this "vapor-gadget".

That one you sent the link to is $285

    The jaycar one is $39

    Bit of a price difference.

$285 is more than my quarterly power consumption bill ! so it wouldn't be worth it for me !
