What controls are you guys all using?

    a) Xbox 360/One Controller
    b) PS4 Controller
    c) KB/M
    d) HOTAS :)

I was looking at getting my PS4 controller up but mouse aiming is always so much better....opinions from those playing? (I am still downloading the updates :|)

KB+M all the way here. No problems driving or flying with it. Only thing that it's not well suited for is swimming lol.

Controller just sits on my lap and swap to it when driving
    Works good IMHO

It's not necessarily good but a normal config is SSD for OS, Mech for the rest. Put a small page on OS volume for minidump capture and through the large page file on a mechanical drive. If you only have SSDs it's either shorten life slightly or not have your system as well optimized as possible.

Mouse+KB all the way, need to tweak sensitivity on my mouse though, I'm aiming like shite at the moment.

Contrary to popular belief driving with KB is super easy. Regularly flying through traffic at top speed without a worry.

I believe the game allows for seamless play for both xb360 controll and kb/m.
So you can drive with a controller, and gunplay with kb/m.:thumbup:

Why? If it was optimal windows 8 would do it by default?

Not as well optimised? An SSD is faster than a mechanical drive, why wouldn't you put it there? There is a reason they had readboost flash drives, because NAND storage is so much faster.

Where have you gotten this information from, have you tested it and seen benchmarks? I'm not convinced in either of the statements.

Who told you that? You've never made tweaks to Windows to improve performance?

You definitely can put it on SSD, my comment was that it's not good for finite writes. Speed is brilliant and the performance will be noticed.

I work all day working on under-performing desktops and servers making them pull up additional grunt to meet customer needs, that's my anecdotal evidence there.

    For some MS based advice
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2160852

It's outdated but very much relevant. Microsoft default to a "system managed" page file which often sits at the bare minimum more often than not. The other thing is a fixed sized doesn't need to adjust storage based on instruction, it's just there.

If you want to discuss this further feel free to PM me, not really something that should be covered this thoroughly in a GTA V thread.

NOT having your pagefile on your SSD has been mentioned from the get go of SSD's. Has this changed, are SSD's capable of more write cycles now? Haven't bought one for awhile.

Is there a way to assign roll left and right to the mouse?

Make it easier to fly rather then using WASD and 8546

Yup, I'm doing the same.. Although I seem to be only switching to KB + Mouse when I need to shoot etc.

Exactly, just put it on the SSD for ultimate performance and be done with it.

I don't think it will make any difference.

ok, let me put it this way, I don't have the issue you are having is related - my Steam and GTA5 is installed on a 5400RPM 2TB drive.

My pagefile lives on a 7200RPM 1TB drive.

it's not that i have an issue, it's more about being preemptive till a patch for the memory leak has been posted.
