when i was peeling off the masking tape around the edges, it peeled the paint off the front panel!!

i started sanding off the paint, then realised it would come off by peeling it with the masking tape from where it was already ripped
    so i did this:

then i sprayed the front of the case again, and heres my result:

how about a gold colour, that'd look nice. Does the paint still peel off?? I know that it will get scratched very easily so be careful with it.

 AHHHH! What did you do to that beautiful case! If you want to keep this, I say you do camo style painting to it.

what type of decent coat is that, I have a set of side panels that I'm thinking of painting gold.

@spikes: i think bb7_rider is talking about clear-coat. Its like a clear paint u put on top of the paint sorta like lacquer and it protects it and makes it shiny too.

batman89, thats a pretty good looking P180 u got there. What did u do different to stop the paint peeling off the second time?

I like the colour too, i reckon it looks great and heaps better than "look i got a computer and it's grey".
I'd like to see the black bits painted purple, and the aluminium bits orange :) :Pirate:

its auto paint i got mixxed up from a car paint code..
it already has 2 layesr of some weird top coat clear shit... :S
i reckon it looks mad :D

still to come is the window and interior decorating :p
just waiting for anotehr pay-day.. haha
im doin water cooling with UV coolant n putting uv lights in it.
then ill have green UV fans inside and green CC's underneath...
them ain idea was to have a car theme, so i was gonna put some fans in the side (even though i dont need them with the P180), with little mags on them..
and put like a holden badge or somethin to match the VY commodore paint..
and im gonna put some model cars inside on the shelf at the bottom of the window. (if u know what the inside of a p180 is, ull know what i mean)

next time use a plastic primer and give the panels a light sand before you hit it with paint, youll get a better finish and the paint wont peel off like that.

Next time round give it a light coat of etch primer, couple of thin layers of regular primer or highfill, rub that back to get it reasonably smooth then lay your colour over that, while it's still tacky give it a clearcoat. Cheers.

im 90% sure the panels have plastic over them, feels like plastic to me, and i know for sure that the top at least is plastic with allu underneath having drilled through it.

tahts the point :D i loved the P180, but thought the silver / black were boring.

thanks for all the painting tips guys, if i ever get bored of the green n sand it off, ill know what to do :p

and im pretty sure its just the alu on the sides and front, not plastic. it feels like a stainless steel fridge LoL!!
