Been reading up and hearing just about everyone talking about this atm.

I live near bankstown NSW and apparently the supermarkets are now completely out of toilet paper, pasta, long life milk and bags of rice.

Anyone experienced this as yet ??

Yeah its like that up here in newcastle. So its pretty widespread. Its from wechat histeria causing bulk purchasing which means temporary out of stocks. Given coles/woolworths run a just in time delivery model (as does just about everyone these days) the increased demand has caused shortages. They will restock and all will be well.

I haven't seen it yet personally but I wouldn't doubt it at all. People are in panic mode right now.

Exactly, it's all the Asians doing it. Good luck southside, you've got nothing.

You might be better off asking for help from family and friends if you're in need for those things for the next few days. Stores will stock up again and there will be limits on these things. Which will make it easier for normal people to continue living.

Incorrect. Caucasians and everyone else are doing this. where I live it's mostly the white people panic buying because they have large families with young kids.

Fear and stupidity does not discriminate against race.

Just go to Officeworks, tons of paper in sizes from create-your-own to is-this-big-enough.

Agreed. The biggest villains are the MSM that are pushing out this paranoia bullshit. Go look at any news site right now and this "empty shelves" crap will be top stories. All that stuff is locally made an not dependant upon slow boats from affected areas.

I wonder how many of the empty shelf pictures are the same pictures that were used when Yasi hit, or George, or Larry. It's not like they couldn't rerun the same crap just to startle a whole bunch of new people.

I reckon the first lot from last week could have been faked or intentionally deceptive.
Probably some trolls on 4chan trying to influence media like they've done before.

That's when normally intelligent people become stupid. The group always seems to take on the force of the lowest members.

It's partly people genuinely panicking and others just bandwagoning as if it was planking again. Someone I know went out to try and buy TP despite having months of stock as they do the bulk buy routine anyway.

Just go to your local out of stock vendor and there's probably a number of people taking photographs of the toiletry aisle.

People are honestly spastics. What do they expect that stores just won't have food anymore if we have a few cases of Corona?

    It's fomo more than anything.

Once images of empty shelves started circulating, common sense went straight out the window. Honestly I felt the itch to stock up as well but couldn't be bothered working out where to put extra stuff.
The next day, the shelves were cleared out.
