Pasta and pasta sauce I think will be touch and go. You can easily throw double or quadruple your normal weekly pasta packs into a trolley and its only costs $5-$10 and is small in size. Also pasta is easy and cheap, and you can make a meal without meat and it stores for a long time.

My local aldi has had toilet paper in 4 or 8 pack rolls for weeks. Nearly a full pallet instore each time. But Pasta is rare, choice of pasta is even rarer.

Well at aldi the first to go was the the pasta sauce bottles, but I said nothing because I don't have to use that shit.
Then they came for the peeled tomatoes, but I said nothing because there was still crushed tomatoes
Then they came for the crushed tomatoes, but that was okay because there was real tomatoes
Then they took all the real tomatoes and I lost my shit.

    But fuck hand making pasta

I think all that stuff should be starting to return to normal now. I know pastas still sell quick on Amazon but they are most definitely attainable now, whereas they used to be sold out in seconds. I think people are starting to have hoarding fatigue

Work had a couple of pallets of unsellable tomatoes they were giving away to staff. We made 10kg of tomatoes into home made pasta and pizza sauce.

Same problem in regional Vic. My local Woolies got a single cage this morning, I can't remember how many bog rolls that is but it's SFA for a big store.

Yep, the TP situation is still really bad.

The last time I found some TP at the supermarket was close to 2 x weeks ago, I didn't necessarily need to buy the 10 x pack, but I did because I didn't know whether I'd be able to get some later on.

Now that I've opened up the 10xpack, if I go to the shop's on Tuesday, I'm going to buy more (if available), and if I have to go to the shop's on Thursday and it's there, I'm going to buy it again even though I don't need it right at that moment.

    It's a vicious circle............

My parents have been hoarding since ‘96. No need to go shopping for TP during this crisis.

Jesus fuck, I wonder how much it was in 96. If you put that money in a dollarmite account back then and left it to now you could probably buy an OLED TV.

That depends whether you want it as the 'hero' ingredient or just to compliment the main dish.

Sorta related. Because of the drought, there is a shortage of soy beans, and there will be a shortage of rice.

The no flour thing is odd... who's making all this homemade bread and cakes? I just want one small pack so I can flour my fish fillets... the flour shelf looks like it's been ravaged by some kind of pack animal.

Theres been TP at my local coles for over a week now. The limit of 1 pack per customer and the lack of bulk packs (most seem to be 8 packs of Quilton) has done the trick in my area.
