    Nah, we shouldn't grow anything here, importing food is a much better idea

    Apparently got until the end of 2020 or beginning of 2021 before we run out of locally grown rice. Now ait for the mad rush on rice now this has hit the media.

    It's already happening, my wife was at Coles last night and reckons the shelves of rice are already bare. they were stocked full on Friday when I was there.

    That's because people say 'Australia is going to run out of rice' and everyone panics. If people stopped spreading untruths, or half lies, there would be less panic.

    Or it could just be that the local Asian restaurant stocked up given they are allowed to open from tomorrow night, who knows!

    I'd suggest it is the media that does this... it's good click bait.

    There was never any point to contest... I'm simply making a comment on your post between the general public and media outlets.

    Did you know more than 85% of Australian grown rice is exported to over 70 countries? Most of it is grown in NSW...

    Well can I have a bag? No rush, just next time you go out in the paddock. I'm not desperate yet but by Christmas when the country has run out I will be.

    Sure, but I'm already using today's harvest... so you may need to wait until tomorrow;

    I find it funny that during the covid lockdown Victoria wasn't allowed to have ooshies.
