I'm interested as well. Will commit when I know the final details. (I would most likely be looking at 2-4 packs of AA and also some AAA if they can be included.)

Are the Imedions much better than the Eneloops?

I bought some Imedions a while ago from Servaas, and to be honest, I'm not that impressed. Maybe I got a dud batch, but I don't think they seem to hold their charge like they're supposed to. i.e I charged a bunch of them with a Maha C800S charger, put them in the cupboard, and 2 months later they were flat.

I've never had an issue with eneloops though (I also have quite a few of them).

    YMMV.

    Slow charge, Maha C800S.

I haven't tried them again since (I swapped back to my eneloops, was too nervous about the Imedions), but I probably should give them another go, so don't take what I've said as gospel. It's just my experience.

Imedion's aren't slow discharge. They're just good quality rechargeable's. I use both depending on the situation.

Anyone bought eneloops from Deal Extreme?

    http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6807

Could be a good place to buy them (and from the comments on their website, and also a post on flickr they are genuine)

So I might grab 4 packs of them for $10.43ea... Though I think thats US$ from memory but still cheaper than aussie stock as far as i've seen...

Might get a bit of a DX order togeather... :)

Hmm it seems DX has fixed that... (from my google search... they discontinued a non-genuine set on their website) so may be worth a try now...

ive got 2 sets of them, they were charged 3 months ago and i gave them a real workout last night(maybe 200 flashes at full strength) and they still kicking just fine. When i first charged them and discharged with my C9000 their ratings were about 2400mah each. They are great. Decided im just gonna get more sets of them instead of waiting around for this possible group buy.

Alkalines have an occasional habit of leaking. Especially in high power discharge situations.

it's more the effortttttttt... and i tend to forget to charge the flash batteries.

umm yeh that's if u leave it in there for years. i throw out a set once i shoot a wedding.. so very little chance of that.

been doing this for years now with no problems.
