    5. I know there were a lot of distractions but I like this shot for some reason.

I know there are a lot of threads going but I would appreciate some critiques and comments.

I like the framing attempts in #2 and #5. #8 is interesting

#19 and #20 are the pics of the bunch though.

It is kind of hard to give a good comment as the shots are good, but no different to the usual air show shots. So nothing grabs the viewer as unique or unusual.

#18 would be cool if you did not chop off the blades.

    Hope this helps,
    GK

Um, maybe because it was the most awesome thing there with wings that day? I really like that pic too - nice work :)

What's the fireball from? Surely a plane didn't crash?

Did they actually fly the F-22?

I like #4 - the composition is good and the vignetting works to keep focus in the centre and decrease the effect of the negative space.

#18 is good, but as mentioned, just needed to be that tiny bit wider to capture the whole helicopter.

Unfortunately not - 2 of em displayed, both static displays though. Had got my hopes up as some news footage earlier in the week showed it taking off, but I guess that was a display for the corporate days only.

Was intersting to note that the F22's had a police guard and a much bigger perimeter than any other planes there (even the JSF).

The JSF wasn't as well guarded because it wasn't a JSF, just a full sized model of one :) F22s didn't do a flying display because no display-qualified pilots were available. Thus, ferry in and out only (with an Australian pilot on USAF exchange in one of them, IIRC).

Hah well that makes sense. I didn't even realise (cue Monty Python "It's only a model" quote). The downside of doing an airshow with a 2yo in toe - you just assume it's the real thing.

The airshow was still good - worth the 900km drive each way, but an F22 display would have been the icing on the cake.

That may well be, but it was the first time I have been to Avalon. Only other airshow I've attended in the last 15 years was Williamtown last Sep and it wasn't there.

I didn't mean to sound rude, sorry if it came across that way..

I was a bit disappointed to be honest.. 10 years ago, they used to have amatuer/enthusiast tents.. things like model airplanes, flight simulators etc were all set up over the back and it was interesting to walk around and have a gander at what people are up to.. Instead, its been replaced by monster trucks.. abseiling/rocking climbing.. which, quite frankly has no place being at an AIRSHOW!
