    Awesome question.

I'd just become a Grandad for the third time, and I didn't feel old at all :D

Good timing finding this thread. I only last week stumbled across this mini doco on YouTube.

They've got a few videos of the same thing for other notable declines; Resident Evil, Dead Space, Silent Hill, etc.

I'm guilty of doing this these days, usually because the story is terrible.

Eg the latest ghost recon, lots of fun, but I skipped maybe 75% of the cutscenes as the story was just so shit.

Fair enough if the story is genuinely terrible. But something like Witcher 3 isn't. :)

    For the third time, yes.

Repeating myself: I don't mind that people do. Each to their own. I just find it fascinating that some do, especially when they enjoy other story-driven media, but don't like story in games.

    Inconceivable!

(sorry, I get so little time nowadays, I only tend to read the last posts and thought I had scanned back properly but hadn't.)

But...your wife skipped the Witcher 3 story!!!

It's also quite interesting as the voice actor for Geralt was just brilliant, plus he has one of those voices that seem to make people pay extra attention ;)

However, my tolerance for even average stories has evaporated, so I don't blame her for not even attempting it. There are people who won't even try watching Breaking Bad or got bored in the first couple of eps whilst liking similar shows, which is also inconceivable but I just feel sorry for people who miss out on truly awesome stuff. I got over trying to convince people after having kids who'd rather play The Sims and Fortnite than HL.

She thought the same, until she saw the bloke who did the voice, and it ruined the sex appeal.

Love reading these memoirs about HL.. I still use my HL2 shirt (pre-order bonus from EB games) as a bed shirt - great quality - unlike the Fallout 76 bag. Wife wanted to donate it to the salvos but I said it's as important as our marriage :p
