would you not have to have lighthouses as well?
That is correct.
Good thing we are discussing the game play / story here and not the technical issues.
thats what I thought, if you just went and bought an inside-out tracking headset like a Rift S or Cosmos, Index controllers will not work because there is nothing to track them.
ergo, not compatible.
Anyway what is there left to say about the game? If you have VR, buy it.
If you don’t have VR, buy VR, then buy it.
If you have the right VR it's free
My apologies walker_2003 if i gave a bum steer... wasnt thinking about riftsS not having lighthouses.
My kid found an interesting glitch(?) at the start.... want tones of pistol ammo?
(alternatively I guess its easier to use the console, but this was fun)
i dont have quite the required room so i bash the couch and a few other items in my room from time to time, it not a big deal, only tonight the cat copped it...lol. game is starting to ramp up along with with my heart rate....just unreal..
Does this work the Oculus CS1 and the touch controllers?
Toms has a review with a few VR systems
i got stuck where you get the gun at the start. i shot a few bottles etc. what do i do now? nowhere to go!
Watch my video above!
You shoot the lock on the gate.
oh my god. why make me shoot a lock? seems wasteful to blow up a perfectly good lock. plot hole!
The more reviews and gameplay videos I see, the more I am impressed by Alyx. I think this a major breakthrough for VR. Alyx has GOTY potential.
Nerb, now that I’m a bit in to the game I’m not sure if that ammo thing is actually a glitch..... I mean, the number of things you have to shoot for the following 10-15 minutes until you get the shotty I’m not sure how you could survive *without* getting a heap of clips?
Haha, you better get more accurate!
VR just keep surprising me. I just played through a level called Jeff. Its an awesome level design with an almost teary ending! Scary as hell though. When a game has you covering your mouth with one hand so you dont cough and alert the boogeyman, and you do it, im impressed!
Worked out how best to play this too, just need an office chair in the middle of the room, so you don’t have to stand for those long sessions and you don’t have to use the controllers to turn as you just spin on the chair
so simple but it works!
Finished the game last night. Probably about a 10 hr game... without rushing.
Ending was awesome though. Looking forward to the inevitable sequel that it sets up.
Will play again.
Now to go and start watching reviews.
I was holding out playing this until i could get my hands on some knuckles, but after watching a few reviews i've caved in and will just use the vive wands.
the scalpers pricing and low currency make the knuckles crazy expensive right now so i will hang tight for a few months and hopefully the demand and price drops down.
I have enough room to sit in a chair and spin without arms hitting anything (just) so maybe I could pull off using index.
Someone found a playable piano in Alyx and he played it accompanying himself singing "Still Alice".
