This is going to sound very newby - but is Halo Infinite kind of like Halo 1 and Halo 2 with a campaign and MP?
I've been out of the game since the original Xbox days and have just got back in.

think of it as a sequel to 5. It will have both SP and MP.

So is Halo Infinite's MP going to be free forever? Or is the BETA free, but then it will be behind a retail purchase come release?

Free forever with season passes/cosmetic shop etc. Bit like warzone/apex business models.

Been smooth sailing on XSX as well, my PC can't run sh1t these days. matchmaking is quick, loads fast and plays really well, hoping for kb & m support soon!

:O Woah! I didn't know this was possible, can you do it with other games? Was playing some multiplayer last night (turned off cross play) and was suspicious at how good some players were.

Few console games now support mouse and keyboard and crossplay.

Yeah I ended up googling it, turns out about 50~ games support keyboard and mouse as an input - which IMO is a bit silly considering it's an advantage against a controller IMO, turning off CrossPlay was meant to solve this I thought.

So it seems it is in fact supported, just tested with a usb keyboard and mouse on my XSX.

However when you use the controller you do get a bit of aim assist so I think my K/D is about the same with controller or m&b. But it feels bloody nice with m&kb on the couch in front of a 65" 120HZ screen in 4k. :Pirate:

Depends on the game, and the person - though overall generally mice will have the advantage in FPS for anyone with decent fine motor skills. Bit annoying (Especially because I like to play competetive) knowing I could be playing against someone on another XBX using a mouse instead... oh well, probably getting too old for this anyway

Another game catering for console players. The lunge distance console players get over M&K is absolutely fucking disgusting. Way to ruin it.

You can use a controller on PC. In fact, and I never thought I'd say this but Halo Infinite is the only shooter I prefer to use a controller with than M&K.

It feels pretty good with the long time to kill compared to most games. An interesting mix of weapons and Total Control is super hectic. Definitely worth checking out since the multiplayer is free.

Been playing this with my gaming mates, after BF2042 flopped, and we've been enjoying it. The bullet sponging is a bit annoying - unloading a whole mag and have to either go in for a melee or switch to pistol just seems off for me, after coming from CoD and BF. Will take some getting used to. Enjoying the 'big battles' more-so than the smaller 4v4. Initial impressions are that it will be the flavour of the month for a few weeks and then will drop off a bit - it's heavily monetised.
