    jem10,

Taking a screenshot is easy as in windows. Here are the hot-keys:

    Alt + Print Screen
Takes a screenshot of the window that is currently in focus.

    Print Screen
    Takes a fullscreen screenshot.

You will need a thirdparty program like The Gimp (free, has screenshot capabilities), PaintShop Pro ($$$, has built in screen capture abilities) or Photoshop ($$$$) to save it to a file. For photoshop, you just create a new image, accepting the defaults and then Edit -> Paste the screenshot. In The Gimp 2.0.2, you just go File -> Acquire -> From clipboard...

Or you could just use XnView to do the lot quickly:

Edit: If you interested, take a look at the Gimp:

or if you just you print screen button then open up paint, then go edit paste, and it will come up in there, then save as a type you wanna save it to..

    Some more Tools:

Ultimate Boot CD for Windows (UBCD4WIN):
    - Bootable (Live) CD. Heaps of tools in a windows environment (SORT of like booting in Safe Mode, but better! :) ). Takes a bit to make, though. There is also a way to burn a Dual-boot CD with UBCD included. Makes one powerful diagnostic tool!

While I agree that GRC has some useful utilities, Steve has a habit of sensationalising everything.....so be sure to visit grcsucks.com ;-)

    Cheers,
