    Morning all!

Hope you will all join me in wishing my PSU a happy 11th birthday!

On this day, 11 years ago a built my first serious gaming rig with these specs

    Q9550K
    4 GB Ram,
    3 x SLI Asus GTX 280
Asus P5N-T Deluxe Tri SLI board
    Kandalf Case

...but the real hero of this build is the PSU. A 1200w Gigabyte Odin Pro 1200w modular monster. Since this glorious day in 2008, this PSU has moved across EVERY SINGLE MAIN BUILD SINCE. I estimate about 7 of them, and is currently powering my current gaming rig, an i7 8700k, 32GB Ram, Aorus GTX 1080Ti Xtreme, Aorus Z370 Motherboard.

I run my builds HARD. I can assure you every build ive had has had an uptime of a minimum 95%. This 5% deduction would be turning it off for maintenance, upgrades, moving houses, or taking it back and forth to LAN parties. Basically I almost NEVER switch my PC off. So technically this PSU has been running for over 100,000 hours.

To this day, voltages on every rail are SPOT ON. Fans have never skipped a beat. I will never stop using this PSU until it officially dies.

Yes, I know i sound like a proud dad bragging about his 11 year old's accomplishments.

Let's all knock on some metaphorical wood that it doesnt suffer a catastrophic failure as I write this...

While I was never able to ascertain for certain that it was the PSU I had a massive power glitch that literately smoked connectors and multiple drives, after adding a SSD this year.
The Antec PSU was found to be 11 years old as well.
Offload its rails were stable and it was not overloaded but I was not game to try it with the new motherboard.

Happy Birthday Odin! My Corsair HX-620 Just turned 10. It has been relegated to my Plex server as of yesterday and replaced with an RM650X but is still going strong. And $145 for a PSU seemed so much at the time when everyone used $20 Yum Cha's.

I've still got a circa 13 year old Thermaltake Toughpower TT750 knocking around in another PC.

Funny how at the time of purchase you are like "damn that's expensive", then 10+ years later "damn that's quite good value!"

ah back in the day where high end PSU's were ultra strong and had epic lifetime or near to warranty.

I did an RMA on a 5+ year old Thermaltake 1500w once.

I have a HX-620 that is close to 10 years old now and gone through 4 system builds, still being used in my main rig now.

The longevity of the use of some of these psu's in this thread is admirable. And people complain when they have to fork out a couple hundy for a decent psu. Look how long it lasts you! What other pc part do you get 12 years out of!?? Wouldn't be too many.

Great Odin's Raven that's a damn good run. I had my previous one for a good 6 or 7 years before i decided to swap with my latest build since i just didnt want to risk it dieing and taking anything with it.

Current one is 3yrs but minimal use now. It ran SLI'd GTX1080ti's for a while but i doubt there's any reason i can't get another 5 to 7yrs especially due to the lack of use. It barely spins up the fan iirc when it does run these days since it's not working too hard
