As the title says, I got my r5 3600 to 4.4ghz stable at 1.285V, I ran prime95 for an hour without any errors. Can go as low as 1.225V with no crashing but gets the occasional error in prime95. All i've changed in my bios is the VCORE and Frequency through the "AMD Overclocking" function in my bios. Ive been told to sell this chip to a serious OCer or to someone who wants to benchmark or whatever but idk what I wanna do. I dont really even know if this is good for this cpu or not! Specs: R5 3600 B450 tomahawk non max Corsair dom plats 16gb 3200mhz
Run IntelBurnTest Maximum setting for 10 passes let me know if it handles that. Prime is shite in my experience BurnTest will find an error more quickly
Not all core at these lower voltages. It's a good chip. Seems like a good one to me. I'm now of the opinion that everyone should just get a 3600 or 3900X, and ignore everything in between. But I wouldn't waste my time selling it. Just enjoy it. I get the impression that a lot of new 3600's are getting great performance/boost results because the fab tech/process is maturing. You might consider getting better ram though, to take full advantage of your CPU.
Would OCing the ram be sufficient to reap the same benifits? I sort of know how to do it, just havent tried yet.
If you have time and interest, it's worth a shot. If you can get the RAM running at 3600MHz with good timings, that means the Infinity Fabric is running at 1800MHz, which is near it's performance peak. However, if your RAM could run good timing and voltages at 3600, they probably would have sold it that way.
I went and tested mine the other day.Dunno why it says 3.13 as I ran 4.5 all cores @ 1.3 volts. RAM is 3600 CL16. Though I leave it at auto PBO for most duties. Passed IntelBurn test and stable. Is that good? ---------------------------- IntelBurnTest v2.54 Created by AgentGOD ---------------------------- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor Clock Speed: 3.13 GHz Active Physical Cores: 12 Total System Memory: 32720 MB Stress Level: Maximum (25965 MB) Testing started on 14/07/2020 7:47:52 AM Time (s) Speed (GFlops) Result [08:15:03] 1511.755 85.0624 6.840505e+007 Testing ended on 14/07/2020 8:15:04 AM Test Result: Success. ----------------------------
What BIOS settings did you use to get 4.5ghz all cores? If it passed IBT Maximum 10 passes you can consider that stable in my experience... sometimes I've run 20 passes but I've never had it fail after 10.
I maxxed out bios settings for voltage/temp limits for cpu then use Ryzen Master on manual OC to set all cores to 4500 and controlled voltages. Got a score of 3890 on cinebench R20. I use a 360 rad for cooling and keeps it at 78 degrees max.
Im getting r20 scores of low 3900s at 4.4ghz all core at 1.25V with cl18 3600 ram. So Idk whats going on there
My 4800u laptop gives me 4316 in R20 I think it's on par with my 3700x desktop if I remember correctly.
