Recently got 10 16TB Seagate Skyhawk AI drives, $665 each inc GST & shipping via shopping express
It confuses me that pricing on them is so much lower than the ironwolf drives even though the warranty and ratings are better...

Any recommendations for places to buy secondhand sas drives? I've got a disk shelf that could use an upgrade...

So far I've just been scouring eBay without too much luck

Bought 12 of the 16tb Ones. Can confirm they are Exos drives.

Are you referring to this one? I'm tossing up whether to get them, probably not as good value compared to the 12tb deals, but I'm looking for as much as I can get for under $280.

Yeah that was it. I already have a 10tb array so would be wasting $ on buying 12tb disks, but for most people 12tb is probably the better deal

All of my new drives are Skyhawks these days, Same reason. Like Wolves but cheaper.

Same or higher TB/Year, same warranty. based on Review performance is similar. Do have to be a little bit careful in case some are SMR though, Pretty sure it was Seagate that had some SMR drives in their surveillance range. Which is totally Retarded, the one drive that you say is optimized for writes and you have SMR on that range. Tells you that most of its is marketing wank.

I have a feeling that there was a rating that was lower though, Like head parks or something like that.

1 check, are they SMR ?
2 $/tb isnt linear. a mid sized drive will provide better value (esp if its SMR)
