(wonders if there'll be a black friday sale on the 100TB option.. $40K USD down to, say, $400?)

I'm hoping for a couple of discounts tomorrow. I'm really itching for at least 5 x 16TB ...

I had a quick look today and it does appear that prices have been put up to cover some of the discounts.

Still no BF deals in the 16TB range?

They seem to be cutting the WD externals pretty deep.

They're the same price as 2-3 weeks ago though aren't they?

Need something better. I might want 8 of them :)

They have gone up and then back to that since then, but it is the best you will do anywhere AFAIK.

Yeah for some reason I find the same with Amazon sent hard drives in particular, especially the portables, the packages look like they've been stepped on 50 times :/ All other stuff seems to come pretty well packed.

Good luck  I think it will be fine though : )

I received my 2x 16 TB in a similar fashion last year from Amazon UK.
Individual boxes placed in a larger boxes without much padding. But I did the extensive preclear tests and found no issues with the disks.
    They are still working.

My last drive purchase some years ago via Amazon UK arrived the same way and is still kicking so I'm remaining optimistic!

Fark installingg that was a trauma, had to take most of my case apart to get to the HDDs. Anyway all good! Didn't have any issues with the HDD itself, just a straight shuck and install, no need for taping 3.3 connector etc.

That's great. What is in it from your shuck? WD Black?

edit: it makes more sense when I don't leave whole words out.
