Unfortunately when it comes to canalphones there's a lot of luck involved.
No matter which brand or where they are made - most entry level (including AT) are made in China and more expensive models have the same failure rates as cheaper ones regardless of where they are made.
I've seen models with a 50% failure rate last 5 years and I've seen models with a <10% failure rate come back 5 times in a row.
I've seen $30 models given to kids and keep on going after 2 wash cycles and I've seen $5000 models fail within a month.

Don't cross off brands like SoundMAGIC or Fidue, they put quite a bit of care into the build of their products, it's one of the reasons I'm quick to recommend them.

Mic & remote configuration - I believe the C is 3 button whereas the S is single button.

Those will probably be $600 RRP, you'll probably be after the LS70 (~$150) if you're set on AT.

    Yeah that's a ~$600+ model.
No eta yet, I'd say in the coming weeks/months.

Be careful with AT canals, not all of them are especially good. In fact it wasn't until the recent IM range that they started making them decent.
Some of their previous high end/expensive models have sounded awful.

Any idea if headphonic will be getting the Focal Elear/Utopia, Snufkin? Shame the storefront's closed, would be happy to pay to trial some headphones :p

Not sure - I'm going to be rebuilding our offerings over the next few months.
TBH I didn't think much of the first gen Focal headphones, I hope the newer ones are significantly better.

Sounds like a gimmick. Doesn't someone else claim to do a similar thing? I forget the name now.

The discomfort of earphones combined with the bulk of headphones.
    Fail x 2.

Wouldn't the weight of the headphones make the canals move around?

I guess the only real way to know would be to try them out :)

Ultimately all we need to do is have more source material in some form of binaural format, then gimmick headphones aren't needed.

Has anyone got a recommendation for budget headphones for music from a pc/latest iphone? It's for an unsophisticated user,non-audiophile regular person with a little head. Something lightweight/comfortable that sounds ok? Is the logitech g430 any good? Does anyone know what socket the newest iphone has and what sort of adaptor might I need to get?

You'll need a lightning to 3.5mm jack adaptor, which apple either supply or you must purchase in addition to the phone (i dont own one so not sure which way they did it).

Otherwise there are bluetooth options such as the jaybird X2 or others.

    I can't comment on the logitech's though.

Broc, the iPhone uses a lightning port. The iphone 7 comes with a lightning port > 3.5mm plug adapter.

So no a normal USB -> 3.5 adapter will not work.

Does the iphone 7 come with headphones? I'm sure they'll be fine for whomever this is for if they aren't audiophiles/music-heads.
