ended up getting a HD490 Pro instead for gaming, lighter, significantly better comfort and improved footstep detection compared to the 1770 pro.

Looking for some advice, i currently use Bose QuietComfort BT headphones on the PC under Bluetooth 5.Something and they really do sound great, like better than the 5.1 system i had. (Windows 11)
Anyway i am on earcup replacement #3 and the paint is coming off and the head cushion is now cracking, i will keep them for travel and phone use but they can't handle the 10 hours a day at the PC. Now should i replace them with 2.4Ghz ones designed for computers? It won't work with anything Bluetooth hence keep the Bose but people say the sound Quality over 2.4Ghz craps on BT? Is this true? How much better can this get? These are awesome already.

    Wires are not an option.

I don't fully understand the question, but i believe the answer is Audeze Maxwell. 2.4Ghz Dongle and Bluetooth. They sound great and they have a decent battery life.

I shall look them up thanks.
Apparently a wifi dongle allows way higher bitrate than a normal Bluetooth headphone, resulting in better sound quality.
But obviously it would only work on a PC then and not with my phone etc..

My Bluetooth headset sounds amazing so i was wondering if it's worth even bothering to change?

Objectively yes, subjectively the tuning and build of the headphone is more important than BT v 2.4ghz etc.

    Thanks.
I really need to actually try them on to feel the comfort and hear the sound, online reviews are so hard when purchasing something like this.

    Pretty much per this.

You absolutely will get better response/latency with the dongle options which can matter for gaming, but i never personally noted a significant difference if any between bluetooth and usb, however when i used BT it was different situations etc so not comparable
