I like to keep track of my arena runs, currently at 4.11 wins on average.

I do agree that it is good to keep a buffer of gold at around 1-2k, so you can always arena whenever you want to.

yeah I'm working on my gold atm before i start arena, i don't have a lot of cards yet. Sitting on 470 gold from quests.

How does the card system work in Arena? like do we make our own decks or do we get random cards????

You get shown 3 random cards of the same rarity, of which you choose one. You do this 30 times to make a full deck. Picks 1, 10, 20 and 30 are always rare or higher rarity. All other picks have a chance of being rare/epic/legendary, but no guarantees.

oh so its like making a custom deck but you can't pick anything other then what your shown. But the cards are limited across the board for a even gaming experience?

as in are all arena players using the same cards shown to them.

    Yep
No. It is all random. Over time it averages out for everyone... but it is quite possible (and will happen to you at some point), where you'll get given 20+ picks between 3 shit cards... then you'll face people with all quality + legendaries in every game

Overall, most decks are reasonably even though... its just those shitty times that stick in peoples heads.

That said, if you have the option to go mage... choose it. It almost guarantees more wins per run than any other hero. Even in a huge sample like http://www.arenamastery.com/sitewide.php the overall average is 5.03 wins per run, but mages have 5.48 lol.

Personally, I'm averaging 5.67 wins per run... but my mage is 7.19 wins per run (over 16 mage runs!) :p If I was given the option of mage every time, I'd be infinite! :p

am i missing something, or is this just cut down MTG with some shininess?

i'd still like to give arena a go, but so far that's what i'm getting?

Pretty much. The lack of permission makes the game flow much quicker... but obviously removes a fair bit of strategy at the same time.

Lots (and lots) of RNG in arena, but over time it balances out and the more skilled people will have better long term win rates.

    yeah i
ve played another hour of it, it's pretty fun, very fast and streamlined... the latest MTG is a BIT too complex really.

the RNG part isn't really worse in this, just the nature of a card game.

some deck combos are REALLY fun. .. having a lot of fun messing around with murlocs now.

priest seems pretty OP... so many heals.

ED: and wow paladin's even worse.. +4/+4 for 4 mana? 6 heal for 2 mana? that's insane.

And this is what will keep this game popular! Also working on a Surface tablet version apparently, booyah! (although it plays pretty well as a desktop program on my SurfPro anyway).

Just got the beta so only a few hours into it but its fun enough. RNG is a harsh mistress!

the arcane dust return is silly on common and rare cards.... 5 arcane Pft. I would have to destroy 20 cards to get a ok card
