Looks like it could be a shitload of fun if they pull it off properly. Actually backed the kickstarter which is something I've never done for any game in the past, usually I wait until they have atleast hit early access.
Closed Alpha starts next month. If you missed out on initial backing it's been opened again on the website until end of February.
It looks like a game where you need a good team to make it work or take serious. I can’t see randoms on the internet delivering a play experience like the game play videos who sound more like professional soldiers then steve from HR playing on a Friday arvo
This game is looking good. Just entered Early Access. https://store.steampowered.com/app/686810/Hell_Let_Loose/ Edit: Just purchased, going to have a crack at it tonight! Reminds me of the Red Orchestra days, only prettier! BOOYAH!
Depends on what kind of gamer you are I suppose. As much as I also enjoy the fast paced FPS, I always preferred the realistic/slower gamestyle. This is what I've been looking for. BF1 and BFV to me are a waste of money after hooking in a few hours into this.
Played this during closed alpha, wasn't a fan at the time. definitely wasn't as good as post scriptum. Might check it out again but unless it has improved a heap it probably won't be staying installed long.
Been playin this heaps and its fun as. Ive had limited time in squad and never played PS but here are the comparisons in a nutshell based on what others have said These are either pros or cons depending on what you want... - hll has better graphics than squad/ps - gore is awesome - hll is not as hardcore as squad. Its faster paced. You can play slow as a squad (organised teams will win more often) but it is also an effective tactic to keep sending bodies into a fight from a close spawn. - different spawn system which adds to the fast paced style. Spawns are built by SLs. Enemy can destoy them if found - smaller maps than PS - hll is currently missing a lot of features such as toggle sprint, ability to lean, vehicles. First update next month will include a new map and they plan to be feature complete in about a year Imo if you are fussy then hll will be lacking for you right now. If you can get over the fact its early access then there is fun to be had. Im optimistic that once full release hits in a year or so it will shit on PS.
I have to agree, gore is pretty awesome. Especially when you see body parts flop around after an artillery or a grenade explosion. The maps to me are massive already, but that's just because I'm not familiar with Squat like maps but instead copy-pasta AAA material so map size isn't probably a negative here. With the amount of detail, and that my rig isn't pushing out 90fps @ 1440P @ Epic settings (except for shadows, AA, and Post Processing which I turned down to medium), I'm glad the maps aren't any bigger. I believe lean is coming, as well as a beach map! Here's the Early Access roadmap:
The smaller maps are a welcome trade off to have detailed house interiors. Fighting in the towns is epic
The detail is pretty amazing actually. The interior details definitely wow'ed me when I first saw it. Even just random things in map, ie. dead bodies in trenches, fallen armoured vehicles spread around.
