Please note I don't know anything about this but wanted to distribute the news far and wide so maybe things can be saved.

There is an old list of stuff here:

Australian COMPUTER MUSEUM -- Dispersal Days -- Villawood NSW.

We have been told that BULLDOZERS will demolish our Villawood storage space in 2 weeks.

We have yet to find a suitable/affordable alternate space so ... "OPEN DOOR DAYS"

The old fruit shop at 888 Woodville Road, VILLAWWOOD, will be open for anyone
who cares to come and take anything away and help preserve our computing heritage.

Hours: Sat 28th/Sun29th 9am to 9pm, then Monday-Friday 10am to 10pm, repeat the next week.

Off-street parking, easiest access is from south (Hume Hwy), see Google Maps.

Bring your Car, Van or Ute and enough muscle to help empty our shed.

Please tell your friends and/or work colleagues.

Spoke to John earlier, just to clarify they are looking for people to store items temporarily until new premises can (hopefully) be found.

I wonder if they would consider relocating everything to another part of Australia? Does it all have to be in 'overrated' Sydney?

According to various posts on mailing lists and social media, they seem pretty desperate. At the moment most of the stuff is being held onto by elderly enthusiasts in their own personal homes.

The choices currently seem to be destruction or literally anybody taking the gear, as long as they can organise pickup and transport in person.

I'm in the wrong state and up to my eyeballs in work at the moment. I wish I could get some time to travel down and help somehow. :(

They are desperate, I went out earlier this week and to be honest, the place resembles a computer recycler more than a museum. There are literally mountains of gear out there and you need to be willing to dig and move around a lot of stuff to find things. Regardless it's worth a visit if you're in the area.

Seeing something like this is sad, even more sad the fact that I'am in Vic and up to my neck with work.

Wish I was in a position to help, but middle of nowhere and a toolshed gives me no hope.
    Good luck to them.

I'm assuming you guys (and gals) are members of the Australian Vintage Computer Group on Facebook? I've been following the situation on there - doesn't sound too good!

I managed to find a friend of a friend at Sydney UTS who might be able to donate a bit of storage space. Hopefully that makes a measurable impact.

    Looking grim otherwise. :(

Just be clear though because the original post (on Facebook, linked above) was misleading - they don't want people to just turn up and take hardware to keep - this is just to help store the gear until they can find a permanent home :) They ranted all over the FB groups after that came out :)

Crowd fund a storage unit? Would suck to see that history destroyed. :(
