High hat stand repair.

    my wifes kits high hat stand is not sitting correct and i suspect the pull down rod is bent.

    worth trying to fix or get new rod?

    stand is Mapex, from the mapex prodigy kit.

    I've juryrigged a few to work for drummers that have damaged them in transit to gigs, if you can disassemble the base of the stand easily it'd be worth a shot to straighten it out. Mapex/TAMA stuff usually works ok, my mate's DW did it when it got dropped out of the van once, and that shit is high tensile or something, because when we went to bend it it snapped.

    Be careful not to bend it next to the bend so that you don't end up with a little kink. She's cooked then.

    Most of the drummers still replaced the rod as soon as they could, a few didn't and never had another issue, it just depends on her use case, cost of replacement etc.

    cheers, ill have a look over it again tonight and dissasemble to stand to see what i can do.

    Just get a new rod. Can’t say I’ve bent a rod before though so not sure what she did
