Ahh what the hell! I just ordered 8GB of the stuff! Thanks SCORPTEC.
Damn credit cards.
Is there any of this left? I tried the code but it's showing as out of stock at all stores.
Also do you still have the Hitachi drives?
The Kingston memory is currently out of stock, we are expecting more to arrive early next week, the promo code is still valid so you can place the order @ $75 if you are ok to wait.
More of the Hitachi drives have arrived, and are in stock now. The OCAU special price remains at $95.
Hope this helps.
Glad to have received a call from you guys about this (the RAM) today. Great service.
Is there something I need to do to get this price to stick when I go to the checkout - it reverts to $99 minus an $8 discount (after showing up initially at $75 in the cart).
Skip that, figured it out - seems the "OCAU" tag I had in my account details was messing with this...
I just ordered four of these bad boys along with 8GB of ECC RAM. A big thanks to the Scorptec lads
The ram is back in stock. mine was delivered today via Express Post
Got RAM, hdd bay and laptop HDD's delivered today from Scorptec after all stock coming in late wednesday afternoon; ordered 5 of these HDD's today after the excellent service.
Just ordered 5 of the Hitachi drives for my Microserver. Still haven't decided on an OS but will use my old server to play around with a few. Whatever I choose will run off a USB so all the drives are available for data storage .
Not using the e-sata port then?
You mean looped back into the box? I don't have appropriate drive caddies to mount > 5 drives in the box. I have a 2TB in an external enclosure with e-Sata connection I could use but I hadn't planned to.
I also have another conventional tower with 4 x 1.5TB drives in it so I think between the 2 servers I've got enough space .
So are these the drives to get for RAID arrays then? I'm on the look out.
Oh, 6gbps, are they backward compatible with SATA II?
Yep! Most of us are getting them for our HP Microservers for this reason.
Yes again as mentioned in this review:- http://www.servethehome.com/hitachi-5k3000-2tb-35-green-drive-silentspin-review-benchmarks/
Interesting.. The review doesn't say if it is the ultrastar 5k3000 or the deskstar... are they one and the same? I would have thought if they were using the ultrastar version that would explain why it is better for raid etc.
The model number in the review image reads HDS5C3020ALA632. I'd assume it's a Deskstar.
Any drives left? Looking to grab 6 or maybe 7.
nevermind I can just buy from scorptech direct lol
Just punch in the promo code on the Scorptec site (will PM it to you), it will show where they are in stock. I picked up my 5 this morning, now I'm ready to party with the Microserver
Awesome, thanks guys Looks like I'm going to be able to grab several bits to make my new server in the near future
