less sugars and all that jazz too :D

so please throw up some recepies! i'd want about a litre per day

I like the taste of the blend 43, I use 4 servings of sugar to 8 spoons of coffee. the spoons I use are smaller than the average tea/coffee spoons. This is in a scooner sized cup

its nice and thick, and I make it with cold/icy water only. no hot water, I believe it changes the flavour. I dont add milk, I drink it black

    Using instant coffee or espresso?

For espresso, I would make 4-5 single shots, or 2-3 doubles for a litre. Add sugar and flavourings* to taste. Fill with milk and top with ice cubes. Ideally, give it a good stir (or shake) before consuming.

*Flavourings could be things like vanilla essence, spices, cocoa powder for a mocha, etc. I would probably go 1-2 teaspoons sugar to a 1 litre coffee, but you might like it a bit sweeter.

Dunno about instant - I guess just enough to get the right flavour?

    Must use Bulla icecream.
It's the only way to get it really creamy.

Also, drinking a couple of those a day will turn you into a tubby fatty fat fat.

this stuff is good + you wont need to add sugar. Just milk it makes a lot depending on how strong u make it. Works out cheaper than FU as well

The real trick to a good iced coffee is to never use hot ingredients. Get some coffee grounds int a jar of water and let it sit for a day. The cold water will slowly leach out the coffee taste without over-extraction or bitterness. Then just filter it through a coffee filter and add milk and sugar.

As was mentioned, the Bickford's stuff is good. I also find it quite close to FU in taste, more so than some other brands.

I'm interested in some of these thicker methods though.

how does the bickfords sit on the healthy scale? surely it'd be better than a FUIC?

in a litre of iced coffee is here less than a tablespoon of straight sugar in there?

Here's a good one - make a batch of stovetop espresso or a strong pluger/filter coffee, add a bit of sugar to taste and then freeze it into ice cubes.

Drop a couple of those into milk and drink it slowly. They're great in hot weather, and an added benefit is they looks trippy as the melting coffee forms patterns in the milk.

If you are driving a truck all day you really shouldn't get used to these sugar drinks.

    What about normal coffee?

1L of FUIC regular is, according to CalKing, 96g of sugar with an impressive 680kcal. That's just shy of 23 teaspoons of sugar by my calculations.

The same amount of bickfords milkshake mix (cant find specs on the iced coffee mix, but im confident it would be similar) is 330g/sugar and 1390kcal. Keep in mind that's concentrate, so a 100ml:900ml mix of bickfords:milk would be 33g/sugar and 139kcal (+ whatever is in the milk that you choose).

TL;DR: try and find a new drink to guzzle mate, they're fairly scary numbers IMO.

But yeah, as for DIY recipes i found a teaspoon of blend43 was enough for 250ml milk, sweetened to taste.

I do this often, 4 shots of espresso, to about 600ml of milk, no sugar because sugar is for girls.

    It tastes kickass.

id just cut down, or switch to feel good iced coffee. Its fine once you get used to the less sugar taste, and after a while once you taste the original FU stuff it tastes way too sweet...

Drink what you want, dont listen to the health freaks on here. Worse than religious nuts...pushing your opinion onto others isnt the way to get people to change...

    theres something addictive about FUIC.

I prefer to make my own iced coffee, I often use vanilla ice cream, other times I use ice cubes.

just as Paronga said yesterday though, too much of these turns you into a tubby fatty fat fat
