I hear that. I stopped fantasizing about specs some years ago, because I realised I spent more time tweaking things, then enjoying the experience. I used to pull a tape measure out if I thought one of the kids had bumped a speaker slightly out of position ffs.

Apologies for not asking what was wrong with the measurements, within the scope of the target audience, which was my real question. I seen you post a similar specs graph in another thread the other day, and thought it odd there wasn't any commentary attached.

Yeah I guess I'd like people here @OCAU to consider more than just what functions they need, consider audio quality and to not believe manufacturer specs always without question. With PC's here we look at much more than manufacturer spec's, we test things, benchmark performance and push CPU's to their limits... so would be good to see the same for audio products, which some other sites have been doing for years, as in taking independent measurements of various audio products using an analyser. Using ones ears only to evaluate audio products is problematic to say the least, leading to those stupid "reviews" that refer to veils being lifted etc. ;)

I must say at this point that I don't own an AVR, Frankly they simply don't come up to my standard of audio reproduction. Many years ago I had a Yamaha Z11
HTTPS://www.audioholics.com/av-receiver-reviews/Yamaha-rx-z11 The thing was an absolute beast, Unfortunately it just did not fit with my current set-up at that time.. I have a few set-up all with Pre-Pro amplification. For me the only way to go is with mono-bloc's. And once you have them or hear that sort of amplification you won't go back to anything else. And surprisingly enough it can be done without spending a fortune or selling a kidney.

As far as low budget AVR's go, distortion spec's are hardly a consideration, The fact that it works is a bonus.. Some of the re'sale selling prices on site such as Gumtree, etc. Are nothing but hopeful. This little gem, from Denon is a must to miss.. """Denon AVR 2113 was $499 now $400 functional 1x HDMI not working"""

I ended up grabbing the RX-V4A a week ago on sale for $640 - its used in the kids rumpus room and is connected to an Nvidia shield, PS5 and a 75" Samsung. Video looks superb from the shield, especially the upscaling. It's running 2 x Yamaha NS-555, 2 x NS-333 and a PSB centre and PSB sub. Sounds good to this "normal guy" and the kids (teenagers) think its great.

mine arrived today, curiously the box just has RX-V6 on the outside, not RX-V6A

Google doesn't seem to suggest there are different models

does anyone know if there are slightly different models?
