How do electric mouse traps work?

Bought a AA powered mouse trap the other day as we've got a pesky unwanted visitor surfacing, and was wondering how it worked.

It uses 2 x 1.5v AA batteries, so would only be 3v max, and I wouldn't assume a high current.

I know people have stuck 9v batteries on their tongues before and it's only a light tingle.

So how does it manage to kill a mouse?

I know the two plates are connected to either side of the batteries, and only thing I can think is that the batteries are charging a much larger capacitor up, and that capacitor discharges when the circuit is formed.

Even so though, it'd need to store a decent charge to kill a mouse.

Appreciate anyones insight into this... :)

That's pretty much an animal cruelty video.

So are your postings in the Trump thread - why must we all be punished!

By the way that is far more ethical than ratsack and the old neck/back snapper.............
