You'd have thought so... but nope. It's somewhere between 600 and 800GB / month, the vast vast vast majority of which is video thanks to Netflix, Hulu, iView etc. The average is 666GB / month from June to December 2015.

    Upload is only around 1%.

Majority of it being video yes, primarily 2160p content.

For the first 5 months or so i was up over 10tb a month, filled a 40tb nas in a shade over 3 months, after that i had to slow down a bit.

These days its settled down to around 2.5-2.8tb a month. which is about average for me 1 person in the household.

It really depends month to month. Some months I download a ton maybe because some new game came out, myself or someone else in the house found a movie(s) or TV show and they're binging it, etc...

I haven't checked my actual usage for a while but I remember the last time I checked near the end of the month it was almost 1TB (800-900 can't remember exactly).

I quite enjoy having an unlimited data plan (used to be TPG ADSL2+ and am now on Optus cable) even if it does come with the dreaded peak hour congestion.

I fill out my 1tb cap every month. That's going to have to slow down soon though as I've filled my server and it's reached the limit of how far I can expand. Now it's at the point of throwing a whole lot of money at it to upgrade, or.. actually no that's it.. more money or else :(

around 150GB/month average for the last 6 months, and that's after my scum sucking ISP counts uploads as "usage" too.

[edit] 1TB allowance, more or less unlimited in terms of my usage.

    Usually between 100-400gb/month.

Depends how much gaming, netflix, youtubing etc i decide to do. If i feel its time to flash my PC and re-install everything that can consume a bit of bandwidth. Foxtel GO usually takes up a bit as well.

Overall not particularly concerned. Limit is 600g/month.

I have a 1TB quota per month but would only download maybe 100-200G/month. On bigger months maybe between 2 and 300Gig.

I'm on a 120gb/240gb peak/offpeak on SkyMesh and we manage to stay under that every month.

Coming from 4mbit ADSL2, learned to not "need" to download everything all the time.

Depends on the month really. Some months I float around the 200-300gb mark, other times I crack a TB. Depends on my mood and how much free space is in my array :p

I'm on a 200GB plan now. But in years previous... 1 - 4 TB.. maxed out my TPG ADSL2+ a few months in a row. That was when I was still downloading the internet. Now I honestly cbf and there is enough stuff to watch on streaming services and enough OC on YouTube.

    So true.

Once the bandwidth is there, the need to pre-download everything tends to go away, and just streaming everything makes more sense. Once upon a time I would have several TB's of drives plugged in to some type of device for storing movies, music, games, apps etc.
These days I get by with a 256GB HDD in my laptop, Surface & PC. No external drives anywhere, and simply access what i need on demand.

What content is available in 4k? Seems like a few movies and shows on Netflix, surely not enough to sustain those numbers every month.

Yeah thats a provider problem not a sab one.

And yeah i have a bit of hard drive space/hard drives, almost 150tb at last count with another 40 in the pipeline.

Starts with P and ends with orn. Always at least 150gb a day of fresh 2160p content available which forms the bulk of it.

Around 1Tb a month here. Give or take 200GB. Mostly due to having 8-10 TV shows on the go and the missus binge watching Netflix, and small hard drive space for games so constantly deleting/installing new games. On Dodo ADSL2+ and get around 1.4MB/s on torrents, good chunk better on Steam/etc.
