How to Bios flash Aopen AX6BC?

    I have an old Aopen AX6BC Slot1 motherboard which wont boot my linux cds. I think i need to flash the bios with the latest version, but i cannot find any instructions on how to do this, i dont want to stuff up my motherboard.

    Here is the page for the motherboard, but i cannot find instructions on how to flash it, any help is appreciated.

    use a boot disk and boot to pure dos mode then use the flash program..

    Flashing the BIOS will probably not increase your chances of getting the CD to boot. If they have a history of BIOS updates have a look at what changes have been made. If there is no mention of a CD update in the BIOS updates then your problem will be the same after update. If your not 100% sure to update your BIOS leave it alone and keep playing with windows.

    one of the changes listed in an old bios for the motherboard is:

    Supports Win2000 CD bootable function.

    I tried booting my win2k cd on it, and it doesnt work either, so i believe i need to update the bios to get my cds to boot.

    In any case, i bought this machine specificly to use linux on, im not a computers newbie as such, i have just never flashed a bios before, and can find no instructions, or programs on the aopen site that tell me how to do it, all i can find is the bios image.

    Well, i figured it out, and the bios flased fine. Slackware 8.1 is booting fine from the cd now also :)
