How to drink cognac?

    Very common in Asian country too. A lot of them don't actually like the taste of brandy neat. But because it's a status/face thing, they order expensive booze and sweeten it up with coke.

    Yeah not chilled as in from the fridge, but room temp in Scotland is generally much lower than here in Australia.

    Not to mention the wide array of whiskey and scotch that may be well be designed for mixing or be served on ice...

    So purists should only drink whiskey in Canberra or Hobart?

    Meh, if I'm filthy rich, I'd do the same. :D Stock only cognac at home and when someone ask for a brandy coke, i just use cognac! Or using gran morangie for mixers! Oh the hells I will be visiting when I die hahah :lol:

    Man, I can't believe how many people are recommending ice or water or what not.
    Cognac should be served neat in a heated glass - the heat releases a bunch more aromas and flavour.
    I also saw people say whisk(e)y shouldn't be served chilled - this is too true, cuts away so much flavour.

    my general response would be...

    1. pour cognac into glass.
    2. put glass near mouth.
    3. open mouth and tip the glass so that the cognac goes into the mouth.

    done.

    ahahhaa
