hi all, so i remember using a site that'd allow this about 10 years ago, but can't find it now. it was free.

does anyone know of a site where i could send SMS messages via my PC? i hate typing messages on my phone because it's so slow. i don't mind paying for the messages, but i just want to be able to do it from my PC and make it so that the receiver know i sent it. is there any way i can receive messages as well so i can just check my PC?

i'm with optus prepaid if that matters.

    thanks

Typically, you send an email to 04XXXXXXXX@smsgateway.com and they take care of the rest. Not quite sure how you receive txt though!

Google is your friend (you lazy git). :p

pretty cheap and reliable. good for bulk messages.

you have the option of receiving replies as emails or sms. you can also change the sender ID.

I use SMS Broadcast for bulk sms - have sent ~30k+ messages, cheapest I've found (protip - buy heaps of credits upfront, first purchase is half price).

I use MightyText and it works perfectly. Text from laptop, desktop and tablet no worries.

Works from your pc/tablet/network via WiFi to your phone, phone then sends the SMS. This means your phone must be ON with WiFi.

Works the other way too where you can message your pc/tablet from your phone (url's, text, etc).

Going overseas with a new phone and new simcard? Leave the old phone plugged in to the charger at home, and send aussie SMS from overseas. This also means you can get banking SMS codes while overseas.

I was just thinking... is it possible to use something like "Team Viewer" to create an SMS from my desktop onto my Android phone? I'm running a very old Android OS now though...
