Did change slightly after that though. Completely cut out the leg on the RHS to allow the drive to come towards the front of the case more.

Can you tell me how you managed to fit the 3.5" drive into the slot below the ODD? I can't see how you did it from the pics

Cut the hole, then angle the drive in, rear first.

    Is that 5 x 2TB and 4 x 1TB?

No space lost for zfs pool setup?

And what additional card have you installed to run the additional drives?

I must have got lucky with the PSU. But thanks for putting me onto the Pico - very elegant and running now on this desktop.
Did you try *nix with X windows running? That saves several watts and got me quite close to your numbers. I did not try without the HDD, or spun down.

if i cut out the section you cut out all the way to the back. will this compromise the structural integrity of that part you reckon?

I'm looking for a good low profile PCI-E network card for mine, what are other people using?

I tried looking for the google docs spreadsheet but it looks like the link was removed from the first post.

    Memtest & ECC RAM

I finally got around to installing my 2nd 1GB stick of RAM today. Getting the mobo out took longer than I thought it would, sadly I lack long skinny Chinese fingers .

I'm running Memtest on the RAM now and noticed the ECC column is set to "Off". In the info at the top of the screen next to "Chipset" though it says "ECC: Detect/Correct - Chipkill : Off". Is this normal when testing ECC RAM?

Why aren't you using the on-board NIC?

Yeah I wouldnt. Cutting it out this size makes it really easy to slide a 3.5" drive in there, without adding a flex to the back of where a 5.25 device mounts.

I'd look at Intel CT Desktop adapter.

Still there. The "User/Hardware details list!" links to it.

Thanks, I see it now. Must be going blind.

I'm running WHS v1 (Server 03 based) and there seems to be an issue with the Server 03 drivers for the network card. Whenever I copy large files to the microserver from my win7 PC it causes the server to freeze with a black screen. Other people on the wegotserved forums are having the same issue with WHS and the most common fix is to install a new NIC and disable the onboard.
