No, you'll get a pro rata'd amount of your cap from now till the end of your billing cycle...
how do you mean, sorry?
if your cycle started on day 10 of the month your data usage starts at 10/30 days = 33%.
well that's just stupid lol. so i started on the 28th, and it says bill closes 18th, so i'm starting on day 10?
Pro-rata charges start from the moment the change is applied and is then billed a month in advance. If you kicked off the upgrade on the 28th, there'll be a (part) monthly charge from the 28th to the 17th - and then the 18th until the 17th of the new billing period.
i just used 10 as an example
I was getting confused because telstra were saying it was incorrect due to a screw up in their system.
also, it sucks it doesnt have the same type of thing vodafone have where you can check your balance by texting somewhere. you can get your data usage in a txt but not your balance
yeah sorry i edited out the snarky bit. telstra seem to relish making things hard to understand
but looking here, it says $0 upfront on $49 NextG cap
better be quick, I reckon it's a boo boo and they'll fix it soon
edit: then again, go into "Buy Now" and the list of phones for it doesn't include the Desire.
I've had my Desire for a month or so and I love the thing and think you made a good choice - but when I got it I imagined that they would make it cheaper than the $49 I got it at... not more expensive. Strange.
i noticed when i signed up, the rollover date = the billing date of the home phone, which i linked to the mobile.
got this email today...
ok, im quite impressed. I ordered an iphone4 online 2 days ago for my wife after being told in store that everywhere is all sold out including online. it was delivered today
Also, I'm now in the market for some decent cases for the Desire and the iphone. Pref a decent hard case but not one of those dodgy hard plastic ones for like $1 on ebay lol
1. Get Desire.
2. Root Desire
3. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829734
4. Now you have 2.3.1 aka Gingerbread.
5. PROFIT !!!
wont be rooting the desire as i already mentioned, however i believe once i cancel the voda contract, i'll have 2 magics to mess around with
Heh your loss. Stock gingerbread rom is so much better then the bloated 2.1 or 2.2 htc/telstra rom.
This is a bit frustrating. Ideally I would like a HTC Desire on the $49 Telstra cap but they do not seem to offer it other than on the JB site which has an additional monthly fee. Any ideas whether the Desire will become on this cap?
It IS on this cap. Go to a telstra shop
iv got telstra 2.2 atm loaded.
what is the best step by step guide to put ginger on, the desire isnt rooted yet.
Telstra used to have it on the $49 cap but they have changed the $49 cap Android handset to the Motorola Defy and made the Desire MRO on the $49 cap (extra per month) or included in the $79 cap. Sorry to say but unless they change the pricing schedules again in the future you've missed the boat.
