Hi all, new member and first time posting.

I have an issue where I will watch NetFlix or an AVI file on my TV and I will lose audio. I do a troubleshoot and it fixes the issue but when I restart it happens all over again. The output device is correct when I run the troubleshooter (AMD HD5850 HDMI). Has anyone come across this issue and knows a potential long term Fix?

All drivers are up to date

    HTPC
    Gigabyte H55M-S2H m/b
    I7 860 cpu
    4gb ram
    Windows 10 Pro
    AMD HD5850 gpu

    Yamaha AV Receiver RX-V463 5.1

Is this the first time you've connected it to the TV or something that has just started to be a problem?

Try a different HDMI cable? You don't need a gold plated one or anything like that.

I'd be looking at the receiver connections and settings.
One other thing would be trying to isolate the audio output from the HDMI by sending it over optical or an alternative connection?
