Supertalent doesn't sell anything decent anymore..... I was on their main site a couple of days ago. Best bet for great benching ram is the for sale section. anything 2000 Mhz 8-8-8-24.Prices should be around $50 per 2GB stick If it has to be new, Yamunsa's mach extremes were running at 2500 mhz triple channel with a little chill. Sorry no idea fatguy....I'll have a think about it
It seems that most great rams are either not made any more or the best ones are older batches, go second hand for good stuff but it takes some digging.
Read back a bit, hes having issues where the comp plays up bad whenever this unit is fitted and turned on, turn it off and the issues stop ....
Can't you just get it a new controller baord or whatever is playing up, the actual phase change won't be causing a problem.
how decent we talking? I'll be selling the OCZ Platinums ive used in the competition after it ends. cant confirm, but assuming they're Powerchip IC's. i have 4x2GB of them.
What else is there on the phase that is connected to the pc? Samus - what speeds did you max your ram out at?
more like, what speed did my CPU max out bclock upping at. i had it on stock timings, 9-10-9-24-1T at 2262mhz for memmaxx, i reckon it would have gone higher, except thats as high as my bclock would boot. i think i fed it 1.7v, but in reality, i doubt it needed it.
Yeah I think after the Elpida Hypers left the market it all went downhill a bit I'll keep it in mind, not really as much of a step up as what I'm after though from memory. I'm playing with the idea of getting some mushkin redlines or blacklines (depending on the exact models I can find) just for something a little less common
Samus - Thats just about identical to my Redlines lol Brick - I beat you to it.... Oh and samus - I found a set of the g.skills I was looking for ... yay ... and a new cpu ... YAY
actually guys that are looking at ram i strongly recommend against elpida hyper now, it is still good for P67, but arguebly PSC is better and its certainly cheaper for 99% of benching you are better with 7-9-7 and high clock over 7-7-7 or 7-8-7 and you CERTAINLY will want PSC or Hynix for X79 when/if you move that way as it doesnt really like hypers and i presume Ivy will be the same.. i would be looking at something like 2200 2300 mhz gskill dual channel kits, also i have kit labelled as ocz 17000 reapers that are good quality psc, most vendors will have some high clock 7-9-7 or 6-9-6 or something, that should be PSC, if you want quad buy two of them if you are purely buying a x58 benching system and plan to stay with it for a long time, hyper makes sense, but from any other direction durable PSC make sense that you can throw a bit more cold/volts/extremes at and they keep going just my 2 cents worth
yeh. if a set of Hypers went up, id definitely be interested, but my Gskills are definitely going to be my keeper ram.
I have a set of hypers but they might not be the very good ones and I havent tried them on any SB rig yet. Pro - I found a set of the rams you told me to get , exactly right ones, so Im wrapt. I also got some 1600C7DHX that should be D9GTR for my 775 rig. Samus - there were three sets on xs but all gone now, they were up for quite a while too.
I got 4Gb of elpida BBSE for $50. They are rated for CL9 9-9-27 2T @2000Mhz but they do CL7 8-7-22 1T @2000Mhz I think I will stick with them for a while as they are great bang for buck and I don't mind if they die
