    It may not be an Apple per se, but my (Wiki) research leads me to believe it's a Pome of some description, it may even be a type of pear.

    Yes, it was hanging over the fence above the bonnet of my car, and I'm inclined to agree but I'd like to try it nonetheless.

    Yep, a quince, simmer one in a sugar syrup with vanilla for a couple hours and have it with ice-cream... yummo!

    Simmer just about anything in sugar and vanilla and it'll taste good. :)

    Just tried a bit of that immature one. It's got potential.
