My dad accidentally enabled icloud when he got his ipad, so now a lot of his photos are only available on icloud with local previews. I decided to download and backup his photo collection. Then I realized there is no download all option in icloud. Ok so I will just press shift + page down to select all photos then, right? Well it turns out for the latest version of icloud, Apple has gone out of their way to disable shift select as well. Now you literally have to ctrl + click on every single photo you want to download, yes, all 2000 clicks, and if you misclicked outside a photo, you have to start over all again.

    This company is truly f***ed.

You do know you can just log in to your icloud account on the PC and copy pasta directly from there.

You can also import all to amazon cloud or google drive as well via the device.

That is what I am doing, log in from my PC browser. Try it mate, they disabled shift select, it used to work before but no longer. How are you going to copy and paste without selecting?

I think you miss the point that IT USED TO WORK BEFORE. So what reason was there for Apple to remove mass selection?

Lots of shit "used to work before" one way and now it works another. Deal with it. Screaming at the worlds biggest company on a tech forum in Australia isn't going to change shit and it just makes you look silly and incapable of googling for simple solutions.

Your entire problem was solved in this thread already. Stop crowing.

Apple are a marketing company, not a tech company.

I dunno, they revolutionized both the smart phone and tablet market and brought it right into the consumer market.

Not to mention removal of the headphone jack. First it was apple now Google has removed it on their phones.

So slave labor in Foxconn China and child labor issues with other Apple products are OK but removing select all makes them despicable?

I think you should re-evaluate what makes you outraged by Apple.

    Second part is right.

They just market the shit out of things correctly after buying companies that were developing new tech.

    Apple strategy.

Wait for tech to mature, release shiny high margin version, avoid all taxes. Claim you invented everything, sue everyone else.

I don't use ethernet therefore no one else does! Also I only need 16gb RAM and I'm a professional so there can't be anyone else in the world with higher requirements!
