ok, had uncore at twice my Ram speed and +1 as i heard there is some bug with having exact double.
knocked down my QPI to 1.49V and my cpu to 1.32V

tried aiming a bit lower on my cpu but was getting bsod on OCCT after 2 minutes of stressing.

Found that my CPU won't budge any lower than 3.2 at this OC without blue screening. so i will just take my QPI down a notch untill i make it bsod or do wateva its supposed to do?
will low volts on QPI make a Bsod? or just won't boot comuter ?

havent had a real chance to do much of the reading yet, but im going to get stuck into it soon as my mate is going to need a had OCing his 950.

    Cheers:thumbup:

i can do 3.8Ghz at 1.25 volts on a UD7 i can make it lower i didnt try. 1.3-4 is high IMO. 1.28 is a good one for 4Ghz if you can.

Is there anything in Bios that affects the cpu voltage to lower it ? if you know what i mean?
i just don't understand beacause my cpu is D0 stepping and is supposed to be able to OC with lower Vcore.

when i had it at 3.8 i think my volts were pretty low but to 4 ghz i had to bump them up a fair bit.
will give it another go when i get home:thumbup:

Yes i have to bump my volts up a fair bit from the 3.8 to 4.0 leap. Can have 3.8 easily sitting on 1.18 whereas 4.0 has to be above 1.3 to get any stability

    Is HT enabled ?

Doesn't seem right, from a benchers point of view you should get a 1000 3D mark 06 points for every 200Mhz with an i7:thumbup:

(thinking about it that is with multiple cards )

a tad low (i'm getting ~18000 with system in sig), but since its 3dmark06 i wouldnt worry too much, vantage would be a much better benching tool.

your score should be closer to this: http://3dmark.com/3dm06/11098300

If you want a good 3dmark06 score try some older drivers. Old drivers = optimised for old benchmark.

Its like how 3dmark01 runs best on drivers released ~2002 ;)

I welcome any suggestions on things i should change.
Don't take too much notice of my CPU Temp., its usually a few degrees cooler on idle.

    UPDATE:
Just Posting to let you know I've now come to a stable 4.1 ghz at 1.37 volts,
upgraded my ram to 2000mhz, though due to my ex58-udr3 rev16 i can't get my XMP to work properly, so im running at 1640 or something.
    OC'd my gtx285 to a stable 680 from 648mhz and also added a nice 120gb SSD.

Next upgrades will probly be Power supply and GPU.
Thanx everyone for their input, OC'ing seems so much easier now when you realise how much stuff you don't have to touch.

    Thanks again :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::cool:

    Is a very nice cooler.
I'm running 1.37v at 73 degrees peak with Prime.
you would be doing even better.

your volts are awesome, you got one of the good 920's.
mine would not boot at 4Ghz with anything less than 1.35.
Can get mine to 4.2Ghz though Volts seemed a bit high for my 24/7 Oc.

    nice temps for high volts.
I'm getting 68 degrees when im running intel burn on maximum and 8 threads for 25 runs.
Might give 4.3ghz a go later on, see if i can get it below 75 degrees and 1.35v
