    mah new i7 build!

    Been building this very slowly since thurs when I got all the bits, got it up an running today.

    Not all new though just the cpu/cooler/ram and mobo.

    complete specs is:
    Cosmos S
    GB UD7
    930 w/Noctua NHD-14
    3x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600
    Corsair HX1000
    XFX GTX280 XXX w/ Thermalright HR-03
    Intel X25-M 80GB - Windows 7 64
    WD Velociraptor - 150GB Steam
    WD Caviar 750GB - Data

    I also got some new fans to tart it up a bit, Enermax batwings for the front and some Cooler Master sickleflows.

    I'm so stoked right now with this build.

    pics in no particular order:

    I've cut out all the stuff for the bigass fan so it's open and taken all the dust filters off the front, I may regret this I guess it will need cleaning a bit more often! but the filters that were in there don't do much anyway.

    Cheers! Yeah, everything is pretty much built around the coolers, ram size etc. When I first got the gfx card cooler it blocked off half the sata ports on my old board, I had to keep swapping a hard drive out to use the DVD drive. This one's a bit more permanent I won't be doing anything to it for a good while. (famous last words)

    my HD5850 is on rma atm - but when it comes it should be good again.
    Has a near dead 7300GT there atm (fan is dead on it) - and its struggling with my pair of 24" panels....
    then i will get into modding it in the uni break.

    Yea- im looking at that......

    my issue is $$$$

    i can sell the H50 nad my Lapped TRUE, another mobo and a few other things - but its still rather expensive looking......
    Pump = $115
    Rad = $~100
    Block = ~$100
    Fittings, tubing, etc = more ontop.......

    anyone got some inexpencive WCing options ?

    The H50 is the inexpensive WC option, you're better going with high quality air than cheap water.

    The h50 was bought my my mini PC project that failed once i killed the mobo.....
    whilst if was on rma i bought the evga baord and went back to my lian li.

    I have a Lapped TRUE here also.....both of which i will probs sell to fund some good watercooling - but i need to find some additional funds also as proper WCing is expencive :/

    Having gone from a full blown water cooling solution to a H50 with my latest build I have to say, the H50 is a very neat, versatile solution....And while it may not be quite as effective as full blown water cooling, it controls the temperatures from my i7 920 @ 4.0ghz rig very well - And did I happen to say it looks so neat and tidy?

    Can't be arsed with setting up pumps, radiators and cooling loops anymore.

    Defiantly gets the thumbs up from me...:thumbup:

    I agree here, i went from top end air cooling to the H50 and while its not as effective, it is so much neater, and less weight hanging off the mobo etc. Also allows more effective cooling onto the NB and mosfets via a fan.

    Yeh will do... I'm trying to get some decent pics of my rig. Having problems:
    - My camera isn't the best
    - My photography skills suck balls.

    Hey all, this is my fresh build, only a couple of days old. I still have a few extras i wanna get, but my wallet has taken a hard enough hit as it is for the moment.

    CPU: Intel i7-930 2.8Ghz LGA 1366
    MB: ASUS P6X58D-Premium
    RAM: G Skill Trident 6Gb(3X2Gb) DDR3 2000
    GPU: Gigabyte 1Gb HD 5870
    HDD: Just your bog standard WD 1Tb SATA
    DVD: Pioneer Sata 218L
    PSU: Vantec ION2 620w
    Case: AeroCool BX500
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit)

    I also bought a Toshiba 40" Full HD TV to use as my monitor, but i'm not totally satisfied with the picture. Its connects via a HDMI cable.. What could I be doing wrong?

    I'm just running the stock cooler ATM. I've never really gotten into overclocking before, but I prefer to have something better then stock (plus stock coolers are pretty damn ugly) Any suggestions? I havn't seen the CPU temp rise above 33 so far, but the cold weather helps, lol

    I've already spent a tonne of cash, but I'm building this PC to last a while (unlike my usual $700 specials). Maybe I'll finally be able to start playing some nof the newer games around. Any changes/additions you guys could recommend would be great.

    Pics:

    [IMG] (don't worry, she'll be making her way off the floor shortly)

    [IMG]should be enough to keep me out of mischief for a while?

    [IMG]hmm, dunno what it is, but theres just something missing from this picture

    [IMG]will prob add another one shortly, just for shits n giggles + i've never tried a crossfire setup before, bout time i learnt the ropes

    All in all I'm quite happy, certainly a bit of a jump from my crappy old AMD2 3200

    I found when using HDMI on bigger screens LCD or plasma that the image quaility can seem grainy and or harsh on the eyes and bad for web browsing etc. Try using the D-Sub instead.
