Ever been dragged into Ikea when you had something better to do (like cutting your toe nails etc)?
Perhaps if enough guys said "but it's from Ikea, I thought you'd like it" we may avoid being dragged that bloody maze ever again.

So, next time your in an Ikea, pick up a rack or two!

That's a rather neat idea. I like the "modular" options lol.

And best of all, it's only $25!

and i would still feel safer buying the timber, nails, screws, brackets and paint from bunnings and knocking one together.

I see alot of gear, but do you actually use it seriously ? Doubtfull by the way it's sitting.

Or are you one of those guys who buys up stuff then sits on it never actually using it or understanding what it does ?

    Oooo ... harsh.
I've got that much gear on the dining room table - it's all in use.
I think it's a safe bet dk's gear gets used.

While I am only a hobbyist and sometimes I don't get that much time to do as much as I'd like, but I do know what it all does and I do use it all. Though I do have 2 digital scopes there and I'll sell off the HP one when I get around to it. This is my latest undertaking, an 8-way DAC with FPGA DSP for active crossovers and synchronous re-clocking with a digitally controlled VCXO PLL. Is that serious enough?

How sturdy are these things? Would it hold 35kg safely? (as a table that is, not as a rack :o ) I'm hoping to buy a new printer soon, and need something to put it on. I guess installing a couple of servers in it would make it stronger  but sadly I don't have any rack equipment :(

I'm quite frustrated with myself - I saw this thread last night and I was at Ikea today, but I only just thought of using one for the printer :tired:
