    this is how i would do the banner...a quick mock up in photoshop!

    the banner is shorter, the rss fb links are smaller by still readable, added a watermark kind of effect to the banner...looked plain anyways!

    It looks like you're going for the web 2.0 / blog feel :)

    I think you should have a look at some web 2.0 websites and get some inspiration from them.

    Gave the website a facelift, but I have to leave the club's webmaster position. I had much grander plans for improving the layout but didn't have time to implement them - I wanted to use one or two horizontal flowing ribbons (ribbon being a flowing material, to somewhat symbolise dance) to break up the lines of the top area.The club's new webmaster can try fiddling with it if he really wants...he sounds noobish though...if he destroys my creation I'll be mighty peeved!

    No, it used to be 2 pixels out at the top. Now it's 2 pixels out at the bottom.

    Just checked...fine in FF, not so in IE, GRR!!! Will patch up later, thanks.
